The great (1st party) games have absolutely arrived. The 3rd stuff is still essential for a console to have a rich software library and it's still MIA on the Wii U and probably will never get better.

On the other hand, the hardware still sucks. The tablet is a unnacesary gimmick that boosts the price and limits the console graphic power. It's clunky und uncomfortable.

Now what's really BS is the OS. The PS3 was annoying as hell with its updates and shit. The Wii U is 3 times worse, I tell ya. It updates forever, then finally it's done, yay!...And then the next update starts lol. And that annoying sound makes it even more horrible.

But hey, it has Smash, Bayo, MK and 3D World. How could I not love this console?

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

No, Amiibo support in Smash is clearly much better than the other games thus far. An advanced AI that helps train u is much more than character skins for Miis in MK8 and a single excluisve weapon in HW.

We don't know what Kirby, Yoshi, Captain Toad, Mario Party have in store for Amiibo. It's possible that with each release, the Amiibo support becomes more and more worthwhile.

Or you could play online against real people. There's nothing at all compelling about them. The amiibo FPs are so trivial, it hurts. It's obvious that with each release, the amiibo will be more worth while, but without a central game, they lack focus, and focus will keep the sales going. Focus will give them legs. Focus will give them a primary focus. That's why its mindblowing that Nintendo didn't launch them with a Skylanders/Disney Infinity-like game. All they'd need to do is make it free to play and give it a compelling hook what promotes buying more amiibo in a way that doesn't feel like a ripoff, which is why a Nintendo MOBA where you unlock the characters via Amiibo is such a great idea for them.

Literally the only difference between this year and last year was a slightly more positive E3 followed by an extremely small increase in sales. No, they're still just as stubborn and ignorant as usual.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

I did not hate then a i dont hate now. Though i do wish they had been more agressive in trying to turn the Wii U around.

They still have the same mindset as before so no my opinion on their management hasn't changed one bit ...

The management has really done nothing that I wanted them to do, not only with accounts or perks but also pushing the same games they have been pushing  over and over. I feel like it's nothing new.

Here have this new Random Mario, Zelda etc....

No I still most definitely hate them and their unwillingness to use the money they aquired in the Wii/DS era to try and build as a company. Instead they sit their and push out the same few games and watch sales plummit to record lows and call it a day. Then we got the oh so innovative amiibo  -_-
If Nintendo want to make hardware they are going to have to do more than this to stay relevant.

Yeah pretty much this. They were making $5 billion profit a year during the Wii/DS peak. If they just used 2 of those billions to develop games & bribe third parties the Wii U would be so loaded with games it wouldn't know what to do with itself.

What? Lol, no. Fire Reggie and Iwata, and promote the guys who actually had the good ideas.

I completely agree. ^^^^^^^^

I look at Iwata like he's just a spokesperson rather than the man in charge. Whenever he steps down, he should stay a public figure for Nintendo Directs, conventions, etc.

Nintendo's biggest problem causers are the people in charge of marketing, and f**king PRODUCT NAMING!

I couldn't find any reason to hate Nintendo's management before, and can't find it now either. As a consumer I'm very pleased with my Wii U. To me Nintendo has delivered a great piece of hardware, with amazing software. From a quality and pure entertainment perspective, Nintendo's management has done an outstanding job - most importantly; they didn't panic when the tide turned.
From a business perspective one might argue that Nintendo's management have failed in quite a few areas. Is that failure enough to hate them? Not really. Learning by mistakes is what makes people good at what they do. That's the difference between one hit wonders and long term success. I believe Nintendo's track record suggests the management has skills for long term success.
Iwata made DS a huge success. Iwata made Wii a huge success. During his rule, Nintendo has maintained the high quality doctrine that has given us some of the best video game experiences in gaming history, and stood by the innovation principle that's been so fundamental to most of Nintendo's hardware successes since the release of NES. His actions during the last 15 years have made billions of dollars to stock owners. His track record is in all honesty more impressive than that of Hiroshi Yamauchi if you look at simple facts. I have strong faith in him, and I believe Nintendo's next business venture will prove me right (what ever that venture might be)
