No.
Their pathetic localization stance, awful advertising, cluelessness when it comes to the Western market, and the lack of autonomy granted to NoA/NoE are still evidence of atrocious management.

They've managed to turn disaster into mediocrity; so it could be worse but it could damn well have been better.
of course, any solution has to come from within. Hope for some sort of revolution in Kyoto's management is a pipe dream.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think Amiibo was smart financially, even though you'll never see me within 10 feet of those things. My problem is that they've done nothing to capitalize on it at all like with Skylanders and Disney Infinity which makes them nessecary.
They should be releasing a free to play game that unlocks bits and peices of it just like with those games depending on your Amiibo. If it was a MOBA with the same accessability that Smash created for the fighting genre, then they'd've literally done to MOBAs what Goldeneye for FPS games. There are nearly 1m Amiibo sold, and everyone who owns one could have been getting more invested into this game, which would they give people more reason to want even more Amiibo to unlock more characters, and so forth.
They dropped the ball so hard with this thing.
They play it too safe (software wise) and try to be a bit too out there (hardware wise) leaving them in an awkward. support consoles to PS and Xbox for my taste.
While they've made lot's of mistakes, they rarely have anything to do with their software, the only thing I care about from em!

Well to be fair, we don't really know what else they have planned for Amiibo in the future, Smash Bros seems to have been a test run as a game to make decent use of them with games like MK8/HW just having some thrown in last minute functionality for extra measure.
I think we certainly could see an Amiibo game that actually requires them like Skylanders, it would be fun to play an action/platformer with dozens of playable Nintendo characters. If Nintendo is really releasing new hardware in 2016, perhaps this could be the big launch game and if it's free to play then they could just have it predownloaded onto the device, bundle a single Amiibo (most likely Mario) figure and u need to buy others in order to unlock new characters.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
I've made a long and detailed post before about this topic. I'll quote it when I get home.

Unwillingness to use the money to try and build as a company? Are you kidding?
They're spending a lot of money on building, both in terms of direct first-party, and in terms of connections with other companies. Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 came out of the latter (and more is on the way), while regarding the former, they've even been literally building the company, with a new building having been created specifically so that they can increase size and interconnectedness of dev studios. And they've spoken about their interest in mergers and acquisitions, too. And earlier this year, they bought some sort of tech company for over $150 million (we don't yet know what the company is).
And anybody who would describe Nintendo's recent output as "the same few games" is being disingenuous.
No? Still sucks. The games were good this year but the company as a whole still makes shitty decisions. (Discontinue the super popular Gamecube adapters WTF )
