No, not price everything at $59.99.

Some companies do this instead of charging full price. Nintendo does this sometimes with the 3ds game. Most are $39.99 but might putthem down to $34.99 MSRP

Nintendo isn't giving away anything free here. They price it $39.99 because you get $39.99 of content. It's a 2D platformer that recycles many ideas from its predecessor (Canvas Curse and every other 2D Kirby games really). It wouldn't have been priced as such if it were a more ambitious title.

Never said they were giving anything free. "recycles many ideas from its predecessor" Thats about every game though, and as i see it for now looks to heavily build upon Canvas Curse.

NSMB was $35 MSRP and NSMBWii $50 MSRP. I dont see the problem here. The game could of been $60 or $50. TBH i didn't expect $40, so im glad.

Make smaller games?

too many AAA games these days so this is nice

Too many AAA games on the Wii U?

I don't think the Wii U needs smaller titles.

well yeah it needs AAA games but having some small games is nice

this game looks pretty cool and can be a great family game if they bundle it with wii u

and make it only $220

Considering the competition in the kids/family business, it's reasonable to not overprice a game that appeals to that crowd.
And, let's face it, Kirby RC really has a "kiddie" visual to it.

But those looks, with a 39.99$ price tag, seems like a really good combination to attract those consumers.

I agree to some extent (though I don't really believe the size of a game has much to do with the amount of enjoyment), but Nintendo has to work with the situation they've put themselves in with the Wii U. Wii U could use a lot of AAA exclusives, but that's pretty much impossible considering that most of the 3rd party developers who could provide those titles have dumped Wii U and aren't coming back, or weren't even there to begin with. Nintendo doesn't have the manpower to pump out a consistent rate of huge games either, so they have to rely on putting out a few smaller games to fill their library and appeal to the fanbases for each of their major IPs.

It's not ideal, but hopefully its a lesson learned for their next home console.

Most companies make games that recycle nearly all of the ideas from their predecessors, and still charge full price.

But most of the ones you have in mind (probably like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed) don't come from a genre that's been around for over 30 years, that's been run into to the ground extensively and that requires limited technology. It feels like for a 2D platformer to stand out these days they need a unique artstyle because we all know they ultimately all play the same (or so). So if such a familiar genre recycles ideas then we know it probably didn't require much work, hence the lower price point.

Kirby franchise has several traditional 2d platformers. This is a sequel of one game that plays completely different (compared to 2D platformers) and to top it off the 1st game probably came out about 10 years ago~ish.

"It feels like for a 2D platformer to stand out these days they need a unique artstyle because we all know they ultimately all play the same (or so)" How does this play the same (or so) as a 2D platformer btw? The artstyle is different, ok?

Srry im a bit confused as to wat your trying to get at here :-/

Edit: Just remembered where this started from (my first post). Does it bother you i think $40 is a good price for this game when many games recycle (when this game innovates alot more compared to many others) that are sequels? And like i previously mentioned, this is Nintendo's 2nd game that plays like this. and the first was so long ago :0

Still not sold on this game... The gameplay looks more of a gimmick to me than anything. Hope the reviews and more gameplay prove me wrong though.

Really wish we got a traditional Kirby game, but that's just me.
