This proves that the next Nintendo console launches soon; according to OP Mario Maker is a launch title.

That's not how I read his comments at all.

I am wondering if my reading skills are terrible, or if you have taken this completely out of context.

3d world is fantastic. I've only played a little bit of it but I loved it for the time I played it.

Just to give you some context:

I loved 64.

Thought Sunshine was extremely weird and didn't enjoy it.

Galaxy 1/2 I enjoyed looking at but did, often, get annoyed at collecting all those bit stars.

3d land is my favorite 3d mario game that I've played a lot of so far. It was amazeballons!

I say all this because the Wii U already has a NSMB game, a 3d mario game, a Luigi expansion, and it has a Paper Mario game incoming. I'm good with waiting for the next device for the next 3d mario game to be honest.

Honestly I wouldn't mind if that were the case. Nintendo needs to develop their other IP's. Some of them have been declining.

This is to be expected. Yoshiaki Koizumi said they were working on the next 3D Mario, but wasn't sure it would be on Wii U. It's probably at least 2 years away. It would only make sense to put some extra effort into it and make it the kick-ass launch title that the next console needs.

This doesn't really surprise me, we already have New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World and next year we're getting Mario Maker. Also i wouldn't be surprised to see Super Mario Sunshine HD release sometime in 2015/2016 for Wii U.
