Not a 2D Metroid fan, I'm in love with the Metroid Prime trilogy. Those took me forever to complete, especially Prime 2. You're all defending the short length now, but if Star Fox Wii U has a campaign of only an hour you will all hate it. Well, most of you guys anyway. 8-10 hours for a first playthrough is a must imo. 

I'd like a Metroid game to be made for the 3DS just as much as I want a Metroid game to be made for the Wii U.

So much sadness in this post.  I'm really not sure you've given Super Metroid enough of a chance.  Or perhaps you have a hard time with a majority of old school platform/side scrollers.  Not sure.  But Super does so many things right.  There are also people who hate on something because everyone else loves it.  Not saying you're one of those people, but it's often wise to consider that when judging a game.

@ MZuzek...sorry for the lack of Star Fox.  Hopefully Nintendo will deliver what you've been waiting for.  With really nothing shown yet, you must feel very apprehensive about the results.

I guess we've got something in common. While I did enjoy Metroid II, III and Fusion I greatly prefer Prime. I stand by my point that dismissing a game based upon length is foolish though, especially considering the fact that many of the greatest games from the third and fourth console generations only offered an hour of content of less.

Just don't think it aged all that well. I never grew up with these games. The original Metroid is even worse, that game is barely playable to me. Just like the first two Zelda games. They aged so poorly (the Zelda games that is). 

I should probably give Metroid: Zero Mission a chance though, I heard it improves a lot on the first Metroid game. And for only €4 I don't mind if it's a short game. 

From what I read, you seem to be touchy about a lot of things.

WIth all due respect, chill out. I'm not "moaning". I can't believe you got so defensive just because I said "even" (as in "even a series that, like you said, never gets games has news, and Metroid doesn't").

Actually, you get defensive about a lot of stuff.

Maybe, I didn't own any of those consoles. But I did play the OoT remake and I have over 20 hours of gameplay on it. That's also an N64 game, so again, what's the excuse of Star Fox? Isn't an on rails shooter far more easier to develop than an open world game (with dynamic time no less)?

Thanks, I'm going to buy Fusion next year and give it a new shot. I heard it's more linear than Super Metroid. I like non-linearity in a 3D game, but in a 2D game it greatly confuses me for some reason. 

I hope they have another 3DS Metroid lined up

Do I look like I want to hear about a game being cancelled that I hadn't heard about... and then the confirmation that this cancelled game once existed.
That's just mean. I would have rather not known.
It's like "oh hey there's this new game... but not actually because we cancelled it.
