Would like to see some announcements. But Sony/Nintendo didn't have any noteworthy ones either. It was all games we already knew about or indies, so don't really care that they weren't there.

Exactly, they only thing cool shown was the extended look at Zelda.

And a confirmation of Star Fox.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I think they just didn't have anything to show.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Its clearly not a very important event and all the trailers shown were clearly afterthoughts.

The Order trailer is one of the worst trailers I have ever seem, the editing was very last minute. The Dyling Light trailer put way too much focus on melodrama. The Battlefield Hardline trailer was also completely pointless.

I don't think MS' absence was such a big issue.. The only thing I really liked at the VGA's was the Zelda U footage!  That's it.. :/

Hello all : ) I was wondering what you think of Microsoft / What do you say to Microsoft's absence?? Microsoft was not on the "Game Awards". My friends talk about it right now and the people on the Internet. MS say: "Since many have asked we are not planning any new game announcements". Are you disappointed or is it you care? This week there were some announcements for the PS4 and on weekends it continues. Nintendo was also there too. This thread is intended to lead to a proper discussion with personal opinions. There are also people who do not care that the competition presents new stuff and MS not.

This is my personal opinion:

I found my Xbox360 really great. But with the Xbox One I'm not interested. Microsoft has a lot of money, but the players see nothing, I think. But what do you say to Microsoft's absence? Please talk in this thread about it. The issue seems to be discussed in many Internet forums to time. I'm curious about your feelings and opinions.

So you aren't interested in Xbox, yet you are concerned about Xbox?   If you aren't interested why do you care?

MS makes a lot of money, but the players don't see anything?  I think they came out with some great games in 2014.  Looks to me like players did see quite a bit.

Maybe just maybe MS didnt feel that marketing at this event was worth the money.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

There was an awards show? Too busy playing COD, Halo MCC and Sunset Overdrive to notice.

Also replaying Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on a new Android gaming handheld I picked up. When will we get a new metrovania already damn it?

Why would they show anything when today is Sonys event....

As weird as this might sound. It almost feels like something nefarious is happening. Is MS's big push to sell consoles just to get them out there then pull out? No new announcements is a pretty big thing if you ask me. Just sit back and rely on third parties to make the game list? Kind of pull a Vita.

Microsoft said in a previous interview that they were not going to showcase any game trailers during the award ceremony because they had nothing new to show.  Phil Spencer also said that you can 100% guarantee that they are also ALWAYS working on a new IP at any point in time.  They have new announcements; however, I believe they want to reserve that for E3.

Do you find it surprising that Microsoft relies heavily on third party games to move their system?  They did that all of last generation...

I think that you can't really be disappointed with Microsoft it's sort of become the way they seem to do things. But if it was Sony or Nintendo it would have been a different story.
