Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why has Nintendo given up on Metroid?

Because in August 2016 Metroid hits its 30th anniversary... and obviously they are not revealing anything before 2015.

Around the Network

Maybe because Metroid is a little bit more for adults and not for kids.

People keep telling Nintendo to stop milking franchises, but yet they want them to milk them more.

How about giving Metroid a break and have Retro or whoever else work on something new? Metroid wont disappear and they can always come back to franchise.

those are the trolls not Nintendo fans so their voice really does not count

anywho we will see it at E3 next year for sure

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

We will have a duo of Metroid games in 2016.

Nintendo is one publisher they can only do so much.

They prioritised games they think will move hardware.

They're pushing niche for Wii U. Bayo 2, Starfox, Devil's Third, Splatoo--wait, lots are hyped for that one.

Just be patient. Please, understand.

DKC: TF, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Star Fox, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, etc?

I wasn't expecting Nintendo to unveil Metroid yesterday, but E3 2015 is the last chance.
