I Hope a game for WiiU but a new great one... not a mario

The 3DS is the top selling system this generation at over triple what the PS4 has sold. Square Enix has had some huge sellers on Nintendo's handhelds.

Carnival Games and Gran Turismo, two games that sold millions that I cannot remember being any hype for.

Well, Pokemon and SMT IV are contenders for this title, still Bravely Default is a good one. But a sequel for this is already announced.

Sure their is “Actually, right now, we’re working on a new RPG specifically for consoles and it isn’t a remake,” Matsuda told Famitsu. “We’ll start talking about it more in December and go from there.”
All depends on SQEX definition of consoles.

Oh, didn't knew that. If handhelds are ruled out, then PS3 is more likely than PS4, that is more likely than WiiU that is more likely than X1.
I WISH!
But it will be a PS4 game.
Already surprised its not an ios game.

the point is taht FF 13 is not a good example, it would have sold well on any platform because of the brand power at the time. 13-2 and 13-3 sales show how 13 would have sold if people already knew how it was.
also, wii rpgs sold on par or higher than certain other rpg franchises. in particular, xenoblade, wich had no advertising WW and limited copies in america and still got close to a million. wii u seems just as good a candidate for an rpg as any other platform.

If there is a game that they are not sure they can make a profit on then its not worth making for them, its better to just make another game that has more potental. Once again you proved my point by bringing up Platinum and Bayo 2, Platinum is not a publishing company, they needed Nintendo that is completely different from SE. SE is a publishing and development company, they benefit more from publishing their own games and its not just a little bit, they get a significant amount more from each game sold, no reason to give that cut to Nintendo. |
Yeah, but Nintendo wants games, and S-E wants money, and I'm sure a development team would love to get their hands on the development of another of their more obscure franchises. Your points don't change this. Square-Enix using THEIR money woudn't want to take the risk, but NIntendo wants to take the risk and S-E will want to develop.
A mario RPG 2 or even a mario RPG remake would be nice.
But to order the balance I think Sony's long overdue for a Square exclusive. Nintendo had Braverly Hearts while the 360 had a number of exclusive RPG. PS3 was suppose to have FF Versus XIII but we know what happened.
