Forums - Nintendo - Wii U 2nd Birthday - Thoughts on the console so far and its future?

Well, Nintendo can always supply their own sport games: Mario whatever, Wii Sports Reloaded (soccer, football, basketball, golf, bowling, boxing ... with online and miis), Excitebikes, Pilotwings...

Also, how much would people pay for an online version of Wii Sports Boxing, or Wii Sports Resort Swordfighting?

You know.... Nintendo had such amazing sports franchises in the past.... ExciteBike 64, Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding (my favourite sports game of all time), NBA Courtside, Pilotwings, Punch-Out..... Wii Sports Club and Mario sports games are ok for local multiplayer, but we all know they can do much better than that, if they want.

I don´t see them reviving any of those franchises, though. So sad........although my family still has a lot of fun with other games on the console - Mario Kart 8 is a hit and people are eager to play SSB

Its a good console so far. After 2015 though, it probably won't get many games.

I love it. It has replace the ps3. It reminds ne of snes. And i honestly think nintendo has some awesome reboots in the making. Along the levels of N64 style productions coming up. I think they have been hinting at collaborating with some key devs that aren't  big names but have huge talent.

Extremely disappointing run so far. It has only one true "must-have" game so far, that being Mario kart 8. It'll have it second in Smash, but everything else is inconsequential filler for a 3-D games console. An argument can be made for games like hyrule warriors and Bayonetta 2, but that's where the stretches pretty much end. Very disappointing for a console of two years. I'm still guessing it has only two more years left in it before the predecessor is released. Hopefully that will be more up to snuff.

it's a decent console so far.. I honestly didn't have high expectations for the WiiU, so I can't really say that I'm disappointed.. The game droughts have been pretty annoying though.

Undeniable value since the second year.

Not good so far.

I like to hit 100 games per console. I doubt the Wii U will have 100 games that I can buy at the rate they release them.

Wow..  Are you being serious? I've got mine since May/2014 and I've finished just Child of Light, Mario Kart and NSMBU (just a few Star Coins left) although I've other 12 games. I wish I had more time. =/

OT: So far, it's okay, but I hope for a brighter future for Wii U in 2015 and an epic Xenoblade. Then I'll be satisfied.

Most games  don't finish. jsut to build up collection.

Best Nintendo console in a while honestly. I loved what the Wii had to offer but that was because of it's awesome software/VC. Talking console it was crap. Wii U may not be as powerful or have as many options and PS4/XB1 but Nintendo proves if you use the hardware well you can make quite a decent looking game. Plus their jump to HD is WAYYYYYYYYYY better than PS360's was by now. Will I say this at the end of it's lifetime? Maybe not, but there are plenty of awesome games on Wii U, whereas PS360 had a few but not too many.

Thanks for all the great memories!

Wii U is a great console with lots of good exclusives and games. However its hindered by Nintendo's lack of marketing and their constantly delays and game droughts that have killed the momentum for the system everytime it tries to build up some steam

Nintendo needs to find a way to rectify that in 2015 because if they dont, then the system wont even hit 15m life time. 2015 has to be their big year without droughts and without delays

Honestly one of my favorite home consoles. Only one I like more than it right now is GameCube and I feel that will end once Zelda and Xenoblade X come out. Sure game releases are slow but my ability to buy em has been even slower so haven't personally been effected by it yet
