I think its a good console so far. Releases are a bit few and far between, but they are games worth waiting for.
I like the Upad, but love the pro controller. The VC could be a lot better. It has THE worst name for a console ever, but what you gonna do?

It has Nintendo games, so its a must for me

First year, terrible. Second year, pretty great! We started off with DKC:TF and then there was essentially a drought, but then MK8 came out and it was just fantastic! The music was great, the level design was awesome and all the colors were like Jizz to me eyes! It also didn't have any online issues during launch which is a + now a days! Also, the game came with a free game! That was amazing!

Then we had e3 which was one of Nintendo's best e3 ever! It was very enjoyable and entertaining with new IPs like Splatoon being announced and Zelda U being shown for the very first time! We also had that treehouse thing which truely showed confidence Nintendo had with their games where they have nothing to hide! There was also that Smash Tourney which was good!

Then you had MK8 DLC announcement which is virtually the best DLC deal I have seen in quite a while. $12 = half of the game and it included the Mute City track and Link as a playable character. That is pretty cray cray! And then Hyrule Warriors came out and it was a pretty fun game and it gave a "freshsh" take on an overused formula in the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

And finally, Bayonetta 2 came out and it was bundled with Bayonetta 1 for free which again, pretty damn cray cray that they are giving two games with free games in the same year and it was a blast! It is one of the most fun I have ever had with an action game in a longggg time. And of course, the MK8 dlc actually did come out and that Mute City track was as fap worthy as ever, specially with that Mute City Jazz remix which continues to make my ears Jizz endlessly!

So yea, overall, pretty good year I would say! It had some kinks and hitches but for Nintendo fans, it certainly shouldnt be disappointing at all! All I need is SSB for wiiU and this year will be complete! There wasn't a single game published by Nintendo that was disappointing imo. They showed us exactly what to expect and they delivered the games without virtually any nonsense so 8.5/10

And yes, I still missed a bunch but those were mostly the key moments for me

Well actually the second year started with Super Mario 3D World...

I think it's pretty fun so far. Knew launch would have droughts so I didn't buy a Wii U until this summer with MK8, 3D World and the bundled Mario and Luigi 2d games. Also got Pikmin 3 for free. All games were enjoyable but 3D World is definitely the best with Mario Kart 8 being a close second. Eagerly waiting for Smash Bros, Xeno, Yoshi, Starfox, and Zelda now. And Metroid if that ever gets made.

Oh and Splatoon looks great so far as well.

Pretty great so far!
As for the future, well I'll just put it this way: 2015 is probably my most hyped gaming year ever. Zelda (gamechanger), Xenoblade (Haven't played an JRPG in ages and I'm expecting this to be remembered as one of the best of al time), Splatoon (it's gonna be awesome, it'll do for the shooter genre what Mario Kart did for the driving genre and what SSB did for the fighting genre) and Devil's Third (I'm super hyped for this - although I seem to be the only one - and believe it'll be a sleeper hit, maybe not saleswise, but funwise). These are 2 multiplayer heavily focused games and 2 single player games. All 4 of them will keep you busy for hundreds of hours.
Damn, 2015 just can't come soo enough...

Only thought: 10 Days until Smash in Europe~ can't wait for it! Only game that got my interest this holiday!

Its got a lot of great games. It is possible that Smash and Mario kart will be the best in their series. So I'm satisfied with it.
With Zelda/Xenoblade and (hopefully) Metroid, this console is shaping into a great machine for those who love nintendo games.

They can pretty much can it as soon as Xenoblade and Zelda U are out. I don't expect them to release any more games that I want after that. They're pretty unreliable when it comes to releasing the right games for the right console.

I don't think they're nice enough to release a Mario Galaxy collection or a new Mario Tennis.

Pretty fun console. Kind of feels like a Super NES just without the third party games, but the jump to HD is really, really nice for Nintendo even if it was probably 2 years too late. Better late than never.

If you're a fan of Nintendo IP, then its a nice little console.

My biggest gripe -- the Virtual Console. 2 years in and no N64 games at all and several key SNES titles still being held away is unacceptable. I don't think it has a super long future, but Nintendo's next handheld (Fusion?) will "absorb" a lot of the Wii U IMO.
