Forums - Sales - VGChartz predicts Halo: MCC will sell 500k-800k in the USA in week 1. Thoughts?

From the latest pre-order article:

"Halo: The Master Chief Collection (XOne) added 48,480 pre-orders for a grand total of 346,452. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 500,000 to 800,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between three million units and five million units lifetime in the US at retail."

Seems way too low. FW sales in the US should be 1m+ for sure...should be around the same as CoD:AW. For comparison, here's some other Xbone games FW USA sales:

CoD:AW (Xbone) - 1,293,397

Destiny (Xbone) - 746,613

Titanfall - 580,521

Watchdogs (Xbone) - 440,488

I believe it will match COD: AW, maybe a bit north of 1m, which would be incredible.

Just saw MCC has passed TLOU on Amazon as well.

That doesn't mean much. It's passed TLOU on PS3, which released in 2013, on the yearly bestsellers list for 2014. You didn't think TLOU on PS3 would sell more in 2014 than Halo MCC?

That projection sounds reasonable, probably between Titanfall and Destiny's numbers. Let's not forget that this is a collection of old games that many fans already played so there is little reason for them to pay money again.

There is absolutely no chance for it to reach CoD numbers, CoD is a much bigger and better franchise. Actually, it's safe to assume that CoD week 2 will be higher than MCC week 1 (of course, because of 5 platforms vs. 1)

Yeah saw that now, my mistake :).

3-5 million units lifetime in the USA? I expect 5 million units globally, so 3 million USA sounds about right to me.

Halo CE Anniversary did

600,000 in the US is my bet.

Fixed.

345,000 preorders US, minimum fw prediction 500k...

Seems legit.

That's just Williams prediction, not VGC's.

Just seen this from last week

"Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (XOne) added 129,584 pre-orders for a grand total of 446,418. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 800,000 to 1,200,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between four million units and six million units lifetime in the US at retail."

So the actual #'s surpassed the top end of his prediction. This bodes well I guess
