GTAV (2014 version) at least completely changed the way the game can be played. I had zero interest in the game last year, but the first-person mode will cause me to finally give the game a chance.

Made me hate it even more. By adding a FPS mode, they're essentially admitting it's just a huge cash-in.

What did you want them to do? Recreate the entire experience, gameplay mechanics (controls, target system), enhance the graphics, etc.. and give it away for free?

Nobody is forcing you to buy it and knowing RockStar, it isn't as if you could have expected a new game from them this year anyways.

I personally don't care. I'll buy them when I didn't buy the roignal game. Skip them when I already have it. Like Pokemon Ruby and Sapp. I'm not buying their remakes. I have the games. And any updates given in those remakes will be in the following new entry. I did buy Pokemon FireRed LeafGreen. Even though I own Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. Why? The Pokedex was left incomplete. So you needed them. The other remakes aren't important.

Nah, I'd rather they just didn't do anything. GTA V came out last year, no one needs a remaster.
I'm still waiting for a San Andreas remake, nowadays it's pretty much the only GTA game I care about anyway.

So just don't buy it. Problem solved.

I just don't understand why people get bothered by companies trying to make money, which is why they exist in the first place. Plus a complete revamping like this can bring in new fans who missed out on it the first time.

I would be perfectly fine with Nintendo redoing Skyward Sword (With Zelda U graphics!) and cutting out those horrendous motion controls. That way i could enjoy it. It annoys the heck out of me that as a lifelong Zelda fan I can't properly enjoy a Zelda title because I absolutely HATE the control scheme. If there is a game that already needs a remaster, it's Skyward Sword.

Remakes don't need to have an age limit. Nor do remasters. They only need a market willing to buy them.

Don't worry, I won't. But about bringing in new fans, I really think that doesn't happen considering the original release was only a year ago. Maybe you could say there's people that didn't own a PS360 and can play it this gen, but then again the new consoles should just stop the stupid cash-ins and have backwards compatibility.

About Skyward Sword, I don't want a remake for it until next gen at least, and if it ever happens I wish they never drop the motion controls. I guess I'd be okay with an optional control scheme without them, but definitely wouldn't like them to be dropped. I actually tried playing Skyward Sword on an emulator somewhat recently (with a 360 controller) and I got extremely bored of it because it just really isn't the same without the motionplus. The immersion was completely gone.

Different strokes then I guess.

I would welcome optional controls though, although that should have been there from the start. I would hate to wait another 5+ years to be able to enjoy the only console Zelda I have yet to finish. It makes me a sad Zelda fan that I can't force myself through it. Where you find immersion I found it totally unimmersive due to the controls. They are not true 1:1 and make for a frustrating experience. Even my mother, who is a diehard Zelda fan (maybe even more so than me* since she also plays every single handheld game as well) couldn't play it. She stopped early on when you learn to fly. She hated the controls. She actually called me and asked if the controls were able to be changed.

If me and my mother have issues with the controls, then to me it's an obvious issue.

I was able to deal with the gesture based style in Twlight Princess though. They should have stuck with that at least or offered it.

* Meaning only in Zelda. It is actually the only game she actually plays every title from, other than Silent Hill. Outside of those 2 series she only plays Facebook games.

I love remasters!

If its a game I really liked, such as TLOU now I have it on PS4 so if I ever want to go back and play it I can without needing my PS3 - and it will look/run slightly better!

I also love remakes and will always hope one day they finally remake FFVII :D

I like them when they are done well. Like some of the ones Nintendo have done.

Hit and miss for me. Remasters enhances popular Sub-HD games that people wants (or doesn't want) to play. Personally, if they remaster my favorite game, I'll buy it. Remakes, on the other hand, can be either a blessing or a curse. DmC is a perfect example. I'm hesitant on remakes.

Why must it be one or the other? Where's the other shades?

I dislike quick cash in's so i'm not crazy about them. I think games like Tomb raider, sleeping dogs and the last of us didnt need remasters. I didnt play GTA5, but it doesnt look like it was necessary.

With that said, there are games that were bottlenecked by the previous hardware to such a point that a remaster would make the games alot better. By this i mean games that were impaired by severe loafing times or frame rate dips that constantly harmed the flow of the game, but were forgiven because the games were so good. Examples are Mass Effect series, Elder scrolls series, DmC and Fallout series. These games with no or almost instant loading times and stable frame rates would yield experiences alot better than the original versions did and would definitly be worth a second purchase from fans.

I'm in the same boat. I left SS incomplete. And have no will to bother with it. I left off on the 3rd time the black blob monster with the balloon toes. With the annoying unresponsive controls. And him gltiching me off edges and stuff. I gave up.
