Do you love or hate remasters?

I only love remasters tha... 19 20.21%

I hate all remasters on p... 0 0%

I love all remasters, they're the best 42 44.68%

I hate all remasters, they're pointless 18 19.15%

I love remasters, but hate remakes 9 9.57%

I hate remakes, but love remasters 5 5.32%

Total:93

I either don't care or I love it. If I played the game before then I will just skip out on the remake... (example: TLOU).
A game that I bought again was MGS3: Subsistence. I had MGS3: Snake Eater as well, but Subsistence gave better control over the camera and it also added MG Online which was definitely worth it for me. It was also my favorite game of the MGS series.

if perfomance is significantly bumped ( tlou 720p20fps to 1080p60fps) or gta( fps mode more detail and with decent content for a good price ( Halo: MCC) , i am fine with them
or you hate cash ins, LOOL gaming companies are businesses if you dont like em dont buy em others who want to double dip or who havent played the game will

Both.

I mean, I hate stuff like GTA V, TLOUR, Tomb Raider (etc) because they're just cash-ins for recent games. I like remakes/remasters when they're made with some care and set out to really improve an older game that hasn't aged that well.

If we're talking exclusively remaster though (not remakes), it's a lot harder. But still, I can accept them when they significantly improve on an old title.

I don't know how you can complain, the games you listed as "not needing" to be remastered are probably those that needed it the most, late AAA titles from last gen ran at very low frame rates and it made these games much less enjoyable than they should have been... maybe it did not but you, but action games are really better when they run at or very close to 60fps... and well I expect GTA V to feature a perfectly stable 30fps (not optimal, but much better than a game that regularly dips in the mid 20s).

As for older games, sure, especially if they get a real remake, sure throw them in.

Obviously, if you don't like one you can do like before and ignore it.

I'm fine with them. It's not like I'm being forced to buy them and sometimes I get to play something I never got to the previous generations.

If it's a game I love, I'm all for remakes/remasters. Especially if it has been a while since the original release so there's an appreciable difference in how the game looks, runs, or plays.

There's nothing to hate about them.

This is like me being mad at developers for doing RPGs, how dare them doing games I don't like while they could use their precious time to do Race Sims...

BTW I do like some RPGs and despite the fact I love Race Sims, they are here just to make a point.

God of War collection = omfg LAME (did you remove the PS2 BC so you can sell PS2 games agan?)

They removed it so they can sell PS3s.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I dislike when the developers don't seem to put some effort into it, but when the remake the graphics like the remake of Phantasy star or give you great value in terms of numbers of games like in MCC, then it shows that they don't only do it for the cash, but for the fans as well.

Depends on several things.
How old is the game? how many people played it? etc.
I hate remasters like TLOUR and Tomb Raider because they re-released the games only 1 year later as cash-ins, remasters like WWHD and MCC however are great IMO because they include 10+ year old games (with the latter offering multiple remastered games).

But remasters are updated versions of old games, so there isn't really anything to hate about the games themselves.
