Well, as some others pointed out, if the Wii wasn't supply constrained, there is absolutely no way the PS4 would be the fastest selling console.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Why not?, give one simple and reasonable reason why not. I'm sure you were like some people that said a year ago "20mill at the end of 2014, not chance whatsoever", and look now....
I can't understand why people insist PS4 can't do Wii numbers when since the beginning, PS4 has been proving otherwise. You can think it won't reach those numbers but you can't affirm with that security the opposite.
If PS4 sold this number of consoles with, yes, mediocre games based on hype like Watch Dogs and Destiny and without any exclusive system sellers, selling around 16m consoles only in 2014, why PS4 won't sell 20-25 mill in 2015 with the first bunch of really next gen titles and the first huge exclusives like Uncharted 4???
In my opinion, expecting PS4 to sell 40-50m in the next two years is reasonable, what is crazy, in fact, is to think it will sell less......

The Wii totals shipped: By March of 1st year: 5.84 (4 months on sale) March of 2nd year : 24.45 (16 months on sale) this is March 2015 for the PS4. March of 3rd year: 50.40 (28 months on sale) this is March 2016 for the PS4.
and lol at 20 being nearly half. If they do 20 as you say then they need 30 the next 12 months... come on man!!! lol

By April of PS4s first year, it sold 7 million. By March 2015, it could very well be at 25M. And I said 20 is nearly half because it's near 25. You know, half of 50? Hence "nearly half". And if they did that (20M) by end of December 2014, they'd need 30 in the next 15 months, actually, since you're talking about March. Or 25 in 12 months, comparing apples to apples, if they reach 25M by March 2015.
Also, I'm thinking you got the dates wrong, now. 16 months on sale from November 2006 would be March 2008, not March 2009.

And it's crazy when you think it's only the first year, the second year will be much better, especially with Japan helping this time.
It could definitely stay ahead of Wii, easily
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
With posters on here claiming wii u will do 37 million in Japan alone. And others claiming ps4 will drop below 30k weekly in 2015. I don't think ps4 has much of a chance to do anything.
Congrats to Sony on their incredible success. Regardless of anything else, PS4 has been a huge win thus far, and I don't think many of us saw that coming before the new console generation began.
I feel validated in my quest to understand precisely why PS4 has been so successful, due to Shu Yoshida publicly not being able to figure it out, either. Still, the numbers speak for themselves. Whatever Sony did or is doing, it's working.
Beyond that, I see absolutely no use or point in comparing sales to previous console generations. It serves no purpose, and trying to analyze it will cause your head to explode. Each console generation has it's own unique characteristics, software, and market conditions. Comparing Wii numbers to PS4 numbers is... completely silly. Other than the fact that they're both historic success stories, I don't see any other information to gleam from that kind of discussion. Wii was a casual market console, with low specs, and a fundamentally unique controller, and it had it's success long before the smartphone/ tablet market revolution. PS4 is very much an active gamer machine, with lots of social functions, that has a relatively similar controller to other consoles.
Bickering over who shipped more consoles, which data to look at, when you're talking about a console released in 2006 vs one released in 2013 is, again, utterly ridiculous.

Yea, you definitely got the dates wrong mixed up before. Because, at first you said the Wii got 50M by March 2010 (your post you linked to says March 2009). I was really confused by your comparison of timetables

| GameAnalyser said: I was checking last months Wii Comparison with PS4's during same time-frame. Wii was just ahead and now surpassed by PS4. |
It is not... VGC have Wii over the shipment data and PS4 undertracked.
