I was checking last months Wii Comparison with PS4's during same time-frame. Wii was just ahead and now surpassed by PS4.
To be fair the Wii was impossible to find in the same timeframe. I dont think the PS4 will keep pace in year 2 (Wii was just silly in 2008...) but I think the PS4 will not hit a wall and die after year 3 like the Wii.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
Wasn't Wii regularly out of stock for like 2 years?
Anyway, congrats to PS4. But come the end of their lifecycle, it won't have sold more than Wii, at least in the same time frame.
The tile is misleading as others already pointed out.
You should replace selling by shipping.
Those numbers are great for PS4 anyway...

Yeah, and the Wii was available globally day 1, wasn't the case for the PS4.

The difference is that you are comparing shipped #'s. Back when the Wii came out, you couldn't walk into a store and pick it up for the first 15 months. So, the Wii probably still has a higher sell through at this point when compared.
It is near the end of the end....
