I honestly had no idea anyone thought Wii U would beat the Xbox One for sure. Maybe it can, but doesn't look likely. But will? Sounds like a crazy prediction to make.

HAHA.
I have a Wii U, won't be a PS4 or Xbox One, but let's face facts - Wii U will never beat Xbox One. XOne will easily double the Wii U's sales.
Wii U is pretty much only for hardcore Nintendo gamers. Xbox One has the 'hardcore' gamers (aka excitable AAA shooter fans, actually casuals) and many casual gamers too.
Nintendo needs to start going for the core audience.

Microsoft has already spammed Halo, its strongest franchise, all over the place with as many high-profile releases as they could back the R&D for. I don't see a single iota of progress since March of this year with the sales of that system. There is nothing on Earth that possibly save the Xbone. Even Americans aren't falling for the McDonald's tier Call of Duty bundles anymore. |
While I wish all of this were true, sadly, it isn't.
MK8 did well to start, but in reality, after the bump it's only raised the Wii U's base selling rate by about 4k a week, if that. Compare with Xbox 1, which is consistently outselling by at least twice as much per week. Xbox has had its low points, but it will catch up and overtake, because Nintendo have played most of their trump cards, and Microsoft still have a few up their sleeve.
Smash Bros 3DS is selling out because there's a huge 3DS user base. It has already equalled MK8 in sales, in just 5 weeks. Whether Nintendo's strategy of using the 3DS Smash as an appetiser for the Wii U version, as well as the Amiibos and interconnectivity between the two versions will result in good sales, remains to be seen. It could be a genius move - it could be a terrible disaster. We'll know for sure in January.
The question is really, how long can the Wii U hold on to it's current second position place, considering that XOne is creeping up behind it by 100k every couple of weeks, and even faster, more recently.
I see this was your first post - be aware that 'fanboy' here is a dirty word.

Because Nintendo needs to hire me at the "CEO of General Buissness Ideas & Startegies" of the Games & Consoles sector.

They don't like me.
The thing is Nintendo is who they are because they do their own thing and put their own spin on everything. I think they are going for the core gamer (now) which is why they are going to be coming out with their own style of these "core" games. Splatoon to me is the perfect example. They are taking an extremely over-saturated, over-done genre that has a million and one iterations and yet somehow they have made it completely unique and fresh. Watching that game during E3 I cannot remember the last time I was excited over a shooter.
Even though it sucks, I think having Nintendo in these situations where they are struggling to get ahead really pushes them to innovate and make something really special that no other developer can match. They do it time and again which is why Nintendo will always be my go to platform of choice. You can say what you want but there is no denying the brilliance of Nintendo's imagination. This is why instead of wishing Nintendo out of existence, most gamers just want Nintendo to put their games on other platforms. I do not. I want Nintendo to stay who they are, just be better at making it known how better they are than the rest.
Back when the Wii U was selling slightly better than the XB1, I said it was Microsofts game to lose. It now seems that Microsoft has taken the necessary steps to ensure a second place finish. I just dont see Nintendo doing anything to really spark those casual gamers away from their mobile games this generation.

I wasn't reinforcing your opinion, I'm flat out calling it irrelevant in the grand scheme. And we can argue semantics about the words "major" or "substantial" (which, ironically, mean the same thing) all day. Bottom line , you were incorrect in your assessment that the PS4 has nothing for the next 12 months. |
Reinforce that is my opinion, not that you agree with it. Imo= in my opinion, as you know, then you said in your opinion (this way) reinforcing that post as my opinion. Clear enough now? Did you get it? (Your opinion is also irrelevant, funny ain't it)
Bottom line, that is my opinion as I said, the poster said that the ONE didn't have anything between halo and halo... Which isn't true if we count the AAA stuff like QB, fable. Still I don't think they are major console movers, just like blood or order.

Impossible with the Wii U's design. If MS is being hurt by having "only" a 1.2 TFLOP console, Nintendo has no chance with theirs which is maybe 1/3 the raw horsepower of an XB1.
