Again Microsoft is targeting the same audience as Sony. If you own a PS4 why the heck would you buy an Xbox One? What is this must have game that people have to get on the Xbox One that they can't play on the PC or PS4?

Microsoft was targeting the same audience as Sony in the 7th gen, why would anyone buy a 360? Sony was targeting the same audience as Microsoft in the 7th gen, why would someone want to buy a PS3 (the 360 even had superior versions of multiplatform titles for several years)? See the problem with that logic? When the One got rid of Kinect as mandatory ball & chain, it became a lot more similar to the PS4, just like 360 and PS3, and this is probably the One's greatest advantage over the Wii U right now; it has potential access to a sizeable core market that the Wii U will never get any significant portion of.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. I mean, sure people have been using niche games like HyWa, and Bayo to justify their predictions, but Pokken fighter? That's niche beyond anything I can fathom.

Someone quote this post when Pokken fighter causes the Wii U's baseline to double.

Yeah, but even those people using games like Hyrule and Bayonetta are only using them to try and explain how the Wii U could outsell the Xbox One. Thinking it could outsell the PS4 though... crazy talk!

I laughed so hard, I nearly choked the first time. Pokken fighters... SMH

This reminds me of someone who said Pokken fighter would make the Wii U outsell the PS4. I thought he had to be joking, but it turned out he was serious.

Wait... what?

Some Pokémon spin-offs sold very well. Why do you think Pokkén Fighters is a niche game?

That was just when they were announced. Scroll down a bit further and you get this.

'The first wave of Amiibo figures will be released in North America on November 21, 2014 and in Europe on November 28, 2014'

Introduced, not launched.  When you launch a product it's available to purchase and use.

My bad. Thanks for the correction. But why would Wikipedia use introduction rather than product launch on the info board? That makes little sense...

Before I answer Seece, is it the entire generation you're asking about or just this holiday season?

This gen.

Well in that case I would say the scales are tipping in Xbox One's favor at the moment. Its about a 75 percent probability at this time I figure.

I don't see the problem with that logic considering the Xbox is redundant for those that own a PC.  Titanfall?  Ryse?  Dead Rising?  That list continues to grow.

Also consider the fact that PS4 will get support from Japanese Devs eventually for those that want to play JRPGs.  Will the Xbox One see the same level of support?  Doubtful.

Anyway the fact that we're even HAVING this debate of Wii U vs. Xbox One is incredibly telling.

Microsoft are too aggressive. The Wii U cannot outsell it. Hopefully it just remains profitable. That's the most we can hope for.

Most of the biggest hits on the 360 were also available on PC, how does that change anything? And why does the PC version of those games you mentioned sell so much worse if the One is "redundant" to anyone with a PC? The 360 had poor support from Japanese devs as well and sold atrociously in Japan; see this reminds me of the "well the One will be irrelevant in Japan so it doesn't stand a chance". Besides; Japanese support is a lot less important than it used to be, the whole industry has taken a turn towards Western design philosophies, including some Japanese franchises. Resident Evil and Final Fantasy are prime examples of this movement and the rise of the WRPG over the JRPG another. Japanese development and, indeed, the entire Japanese console market has taken a nose-dive and is of less significance than it has ever been, so this is hardly an argument either way. Japanese support and JRPG's is no longer paramount to selling a console, and the lack of Eastern-centric success on the 360 never stopped it from going on to very good lifetime sales, this whole bit is just a non-argument, really.

It really is telling that we're having this debate; it shows how incredibly poor some are at reading the market and how little insight and how much hope and dreams are poured into predictions and outlooks rather than cold, hard figures and logic. It really is the PS3 days all over again, only a lot worse this time.

I'm sorry, but there is not an iota of data or reason for thinking the Wii U will maintain second place, there quite simply isn't. I don't believe that the One will sell as well as the 360, but my whole point is this; it won't have to in order to beat the Wii U, even half will likely be a landslide victory.

$349 XB1 shows desperation. It tells us that they have no major exclusive releasing for the next 12 months and need this boost now to prevent a crash in sales.

XB1 will likely outsell WiiU eventually, just not for a couple years. I'm surprised the Mario Kart 8 WiiU bundle isn't pushing that many sales.

What? You already know that isn't true.

XB1 has already outshipped WiiU, you're aware of that yes?
