Dulfite said: Microsoft may sell more consoles but Nintendo will make more profit overall. That's my prediction mainly due to the Wii U now being sold for (most likely) a profit or close to it and Microsoft's history of not caring how much money they lose on selling products at lower costs as long as they can brag to their investors that they moved a lot of devices. That being said, I legitimately do believe by the end of this console cycle that the Wii U will have sold more than the One LTD (unless the Wii U has a 5 year cycle and the one has a 7 year cycle). |
Gaming division made a $400m profit this Q gone I think? Isn't Nintendo losing money? FYI WiiU is still losing money, people got confused over Nintendo writing off the stock for this year as them finally profiting, but that isn't the case. Also with the low 3DS margins, ... well, look at what profits they've made over the last few years. Not a lot, most Q's have been losses.
Why do you think WiiU will sell more?

1) Are you talking about Microsoft or Nintendo making that? And does that include loss on hardware and marketing expenses?
2) The Wii U was still being sold at a loss as of like 6-8 months ago (last I heard). It may NOT be sold at a loss anymore for all we know. Nintendo doesn't like to share details like that often.
3) I understand the stock thing and already knew about that.
4) The 3ds is about to explode globally in profits due to lower costs of the old models, the "shiny factor" for the new ones, and pokemon.
5) The Wii U has smash and a TON of games coming later this year and in 2015 that people have been wanting since it launched. 2015 will be its year.
