Wii U will win. Mario Maker is going to prove the Gamepad's worth and that's going to kickstart the system and bring it back from the dead.

Now that's, "drake_tolu octimist."

On Topic: The Wii U won't win because the XBO will actually pass 20 million. That's all it has to do.

Microsoft may sell more consoles but Nintendo will make more profit overall. That's my prediction mainly due to the Wii U now being sold for (most likely) a profit or close to it and Microsoft's history of not caring how much money they lose on selling products at lower costs as long as they can brag to their investors that they moved a lot of devices.

That being said, I legitimately do believe by the end of this console cycle that the Wii U will have sold more than the One LTD (unless the Wii U has a 5 year cycle and the one has a 7 year cycle).

Gaming division made a $400m profit this Q gone I think? Isn't Nintendo losing money? FYI WiiU is still losing money, people got confused over Nintendo writing off the stock for this year as them finally profiting, but that isn't the case. Also with the low 3DS margins, ... well, look at what profits they've made over the last few years. Not a lot, most Q's have been losses.

Why do you think WiiU will sell more?

wiiu will be second because smash and amiibo will disrupt the fkin market again
and 2015 looking better (about games) for wii u (zelda dont need to add more)

Amiibo has been launched already and WiiU continues to sell less than XOne.

Smash Bros is one of the very few significant WiiU games yet to be launched. Let me ask you a question: do you believe the list of WiiU games that will be launched in 2015 is stronger than the one from 2014 or 2013 or 2012? If not, then 2015 will be the poorest year for WiiU and thus it will sell even less than the mediocre results made so far. How can they win against a console that has been selling far better and that still has a very promising future? That's the big mystery.

Prediction made in 14/01/2014 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 70M      WiiU: 25M

Prediction made in 01/04/2016 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 18M

Prediction made in 15/04/2017 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 90M      XOne: 40M      WiiU: 15M      Switch: 20M

Prediction made in 24/03/2018 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 110M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 14M      Switch: 65M

wii U might not even get third this gen with the ps3 still killing it and the ouya

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Why do you think WiiU will sell more?

1) Are you talking about Microsoft or Nintendo making that? And does that include loss on hardware and marketing expenses?

2) The Wii U was still being sold at a loss as of like 6-8 months ago (last I heard). It may NOT be sold at a loss anymore for all we know. Nintendo doesn't like to share details like that often.

3) I understand the stock thing and already knew about that.

4) The 3ds is about to explode globally in profits due to lower costs of the old models, the "shiny factor" for the new ones, and pokemon.

5) The Wii U has smash and a TON of games coming later this year and in 2015 that people have been wanting since it launched. 2015 will be its year.

This is one of the greatest enigmas in videogaming. How can so many people still belive the WiiU will sell more??

XOne sold far better (per month) so far and WiiU has already its biggest cards played. This is so simple and so revealing... Am I missing something here? What is the thunderbolt that will raze XOne or drastically enhance WiiU and that I'm not seeing coming?

When this same discussion was happening in the summer far more ''Nintendo will come second'' people were being vocal, they've seemingly gone quite but are still voting in the polls. Their argument at the time were:

-3rd party won't help X1, or that the games will mostly help PS4. I said over an over again, even if a game gives PS4 a 600% boost and the Xbox just a 20% boost, that 20% will take the X1 far beyond the Wii U (at the time they were neck and necK)

- MarioKart 8 momentum is infinite and so will Smash Bros. Visibly not the case from pretty early on. Even when Wii U was riding on the boost, sales were falling steadily week by week with Hyrule Warriors, Beyonetta nothing to remedy it til smash.

-Nintendo Exclusive = System Seller. People would throw up Hyrule Warriors, Beyonetta, Captain toad in sales discussions as if COD alone wouldn't give X1 a hardware boost big enough make all those exclusives irrelevant. Similar situation next year, a lot of exclusives for Nintendo but no real system sellers bar Zelda and possibly X. In reality Witcher 3 will probably sell more xbox's then Yoshi or Mario Maker will sell Wii U's and its just one of many big 2015 Next Gen Only titles that looks like an actually SYSTEM SELLERSand not just quality software there to satisfy the existing userbase ala 99% of Wii U's library.

The fact that none of them care to support their vote is just evidence of them knowing that they're living in denial of whats really happening.

Thanks for the insightful feedback. And, ironically, XOne might have more exclusives announced than WiiU.

Microsoft.

Why wouldn't they like to announce they're profiting from it ... can only delight their investors.

3) I understand the stock thing and already knew about that.

How many pokemons has 3DS had now? unless you're privvy to the ins and outs of 3DS costs I suggest a wait and see approach.

5) The Wii U has smash and a TON of games coming later this year and in 2015 that people have been wanting since it launched. 2015 will be its year.

a TON of games later this year??? Huh?? Smash and Toad. That is it. That is not a ton and it certainly doesn't go toe to toe with Sunset Overdrive, Halo MCC, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Dragon Age.

Games in 2015? You mean nche stuff like Xenoblade, Splatoon and Kirby?? WiiU has had Mario Kart, 3D and 2D Mario, Donkey Kong and a Zelda Remake, and its sales are sitting at 7m after nearly 2 years. And you think those games in 2015 are going to shift hardware? And XB1 games I suppose are going to do nothing ... despite there being numerous more games coming out than WiiU ...

I've said this before but the Xbox One has 2nd on lock. The people saying the Wii U could remain 2nd place in the other threads were in complete denial. I just don't understand the reasoning behind it, I forgot what thread it was but I said I was going to bump it in the future for the lulz.
