And SW is not doing good either, don't be fooled by the top 3, those are quite bad sales.

Destiny sold less than 2k on PS4 this week, I don't think it has anything to do with the current numbers. Wii U will surely benefit from Smash, which is yet another major release for the console in Japan opposite literally zero major exclusives for PS4. However, I fully expect PS4 to start outselling the Wii U considerably next year once the big titles start rolling in. Now, I don't know how big the difference in weekly sales will become... all I'm saying is that PS4 is showing more signs of life than its competitor at this point.

Wut?  You were the one talking about it being up YoY.

Do you want to show me an example of that?  If someone said "Vita is down YTD over last year" I'd defend it and point out they're wrong, because it isn't.  If someone said "Vita is down over the same week last year", I wouldn't have much grounds of argument because it's true (though I might make a comment that it's still up YoY, which would also be true).

Vita doesn't need defending.  It's in a poor place right now.

So you think a comment ignoring the positives but pointing out the negatives (it's down YoY, YTD, will likely miss forecasts) is pointless but a comment focusing on the positives (the baseline has improved) and skimming past the negatives has some merit to it?

Every situation has two sides.  There are great things about what 3DS is doing at the moment, and there are certainly areas that should be better.  I don't really have any comment on what he's saying, but you're doing exactly the same from the opposite side.

Vita can be YoY up

I read it as it all being tied together, because those 3DS wouldn't sell if there weren't accompanying software. 

By all acounts, they're struggling to keep that n3DS stocked.

Looks like abenomics is failing badly.

Terrific 3DS numbers. Vita holding steady, but it needs to get over 10k again. PS4 still not doing terrific, but managed to outsell the Wii U.

Why? Game consoles are a luxury items and not necessarily show the situation on the whole economics. They can also be strongly influenced by changes in taste (from consoles to smartphones in our case), distribution of wealth, level of savings and some other stuff.

ps4 software in top 30 is 6k while hardware is 8k

so its not the software, that sells ps4s right now
