Sorry but you haven't been paying attention to the sales of the Wii U for the last holidays.  December was a nintendo month and that was because of the original Wii.  Sure Wii U will have Smash but you're putting to much weight on a single game compare to  various games and bundles  xbox one is bringing during the holidays.  The only time Wii U has a chance against xbox one is after the holiday when everything get stabilized.

Edit:  I learned this from ps3/360 era to realize how important the US is during christmas.  PS3 sold better 10 out of 12 months just to almost be erased by november and december just because 360 was too popular in US.

You want bet? Withouth premium for the winner... only a bet between user.

If XBOX ONE on December 2014 sell more than Wii U you win, if not, i win.

I knew you were going to say that,  no thanks.

Probably Smash week. 3DS version had much less impact over here in the states where it really matters. By that time the new XBO regions will have gone down to reasonable numbers, multiplats will go more to PS4 than XBO, and the Smash push will give Wii U the edge in the west where it really counts.

Why everyone keeps saying Smash week?, yes the console will increase but the Xbox One will also, as there are many game releasing during those dates. I am thinking more in the line of the second or third week of December, during that month Nintendo consoles usually increase the sales but the Xbox One should not move too much.

Yeah, just looked up what the Xbox gets. Same week as Smash releases in the US the Xbox One gets DA: Inquisition, Far Cry 4 and GTA V. I don't think the Wii U has much chance at all of winning that week. Smash EU/Japan release week the Xbox One only has The Crew. Considering Japanese gamers will probably be buying the 3DS version instead I don't expect a huge boost there, while in Europe... the Wii U just hasn't done well so far, don't really see that changing that much.

Take a look at the second or third week of december, no new releases, but the Wii U comes from just launching Smash in Europe and Japan, plus NES remix and Captain Toad in America, add the christmas boost that helps more the Nintendo consoles than the competitors specially in Europe and Japan were the Xbox One is also not doing very good and that could be the victory week for the console. Besides the current distance this week was not so big.

When is doubling your competitor (XB1 doubled WiiU) not that big?

Maybe during the Smash WiiU week?

So if 40k more than 40k isn't that big, what is just simply 40k?

It is ... when the total numbers are very small, which is the case for both of the consoles.

Also look at that XB1 drop.
