Do you think there could be any games in particular that could boost the Wii U ahead of the Xbox One?

I would guess:
X
Zelda
Smash Bros

If it can't sell more then on the Smash week then never. Both PS4 and XboxOne will be pretty much be getting games on a weekly basis next year.

Maybe when X comes out for wiiU and if nothing comes out for x1, maybe that week

Yeah I think only a big Wii U release coinsided with a really weak X1 week would allow it. Once systems build up momentum and get a huge catelogue of must have games, even down weeks are still pretty solid (look at 3DS sales during software droughts). Even though its trailing behind PS4, I think Xbox 1 will reach that category by new years.

I'm thinking 1 week in December when Smash is released in Japan and Europe, next year when the Wii U gets a price cut... Maybe X week if it launches worldwide same time and during a relatively quite period for X1. Zelda will probably be released in the holiday and have to compete with halo, cod etc.
So I'm literally think only 2-3 weeks for the rest of this console generation

SSB week may be the best chance, even though 3ds version of the game will have a direct impact on that.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

X probably won't released worldwide so its boost will be fragmented.

Zelda if targeted for holiday 2015 will probably clash with Halo or a mega third party release like The Division of something...

When Smash comes and doubles the WiiU userbase in a day!

You think Smash will sell 7.5 million Wii U consoles in a single day?

Wanna make a bet on that? Please?

lol that's just wishful thinking and no thanks on the bet.  Obviously LBP3 will do that for PS4 but everyone already knows that

Wii U will outsell XBOX ONE for all week of December, and even first week of 2015.

Yes it may happen a lot next year and maybe the week Smash comes out this year.

Sorry but that not going to happen.  Xbox one is much stronger than Wii U in the US and everyone know the majority of the sales in december comes from US.

Smash week is the only week this year that they have a shot, and probably an outside one at that. Otherwise, they would have to line up a really strong release like Zelda with a really weak release from XB1 in order to get there next year.
