TurbografX 16 CD add on 1990 played CD's. Eyetoy came after Dreameye and Dreameye came after Game Boy Camera.

Wii showed it off at TGS in September 2005. Dreamcast had a motion control fishing rod.
Wii remote had six Axis as well plus the accelerometer. Oh and this came ou in 1999

Pure speculation from those saying that SEGA would have stuck with cartridges and that sony were the first to use CD's.
Let me refresh your memories, BEFORE BOTH the Saturn and the Ps1, the SEGA Mega CD used CD-ROM as its format.
If theres one thing that gets my goat on here, it's those sony fans who think that sony literally invented the god damn wheel.
For me they ain't "invented" nothing noteworthy in the world of gaming, all they have done is take other peoples concepts and built on them, simple as that.
first console for it's regular controller to have speakers. The PS4 controllers are fricken cool the way they have that. like the phone rings in game in infamous second son and the ringing comes out of the controller. can't help but put the controller up to my ear every time and say hello in a really weird voice :D
First gaming console to offer a streaming service. aka PS Now
First console to have a social hub, PS Home.
First console to push 3D gaming? PS3
God gaming is so much better off for having Sony when you think about it. How can you not but love a company like that.

Six axis did for actual gaming what Xbox Live did for online gaming. It did it right. The same goes for camera motion tracking.

As people are saying, Sega, and more specifically with the genesis has accomplished what many are saying sony did first. Onlive did streaming first. Sega genesis was the first console to offer full games downloadable over the internet, and I'm sure sony wasn't the 1st to have a social hub. Even if you have to count PCs.
If you don't count PCs, it still isn't innovative to say sony did the exact same thing you can do on computers and applied it to consoles.
I don't like nintendo or micrsoft products. But, it feels weird for me to say that I can't think of a single useful innovation sony has ever done with console that didn't already exist somewhere else in some form.
Xbox had hard disk drives
Sega CD did discs
Sega did downloads, online play, voice chat, internet browsing, and all sorts of things.
What did sony do?
Light guns? No... CDs? No.. multi-taps? no... DVDs are stand-alone. taking something like that and adding it to consoles isn't innovation. Same goes for bluray.
I know... being able to change the HDD without voiding the warrenty. That counts (barely) for me.
The rest of the stuff about USB ports, and controller buttons and clicking and stuff... That stuff isn't innovative. Just being first doesn't mean innovative. That's not what the word means.

lol now that's delusional desperate attempt to cling to something factually wrong. Six Axis was a failure and was rarely used. Wii remote was a success. It also was a last minute add on to counter Nintendo. No sorry this is why I don't get choosing one camp. Comments like this. First you want to claim they did it first then change your stance and first to do it right when everyone and their mama knows differently. I love my PS3 but come on man lol. Fact is Six Axis did nothing for sony. Wii remote got 100m systems sold even if I as a whole don't like motion and PS3 was my fave system from last gen. Motion gaming goes back to U Force on NES. Tere is no magic formula that made six axis any better than Wii rtemote as they had the exact same thing in six points of motion. Wii remote just added a pointer and accelerometer.
The number of shoulder buttons is a innovations?
Shoulder buttons is the innovations. The number is a variation only. Also for number of analogia sticks.
