i like how people are reveling in the fact that it flopped wishful that nintendo can port the game to other systems. LOL

Well I'm just reveling in it because some fans were quite smug about it. I don't want to see it doing bad. But obviously Platinum decided that it didn't matter to them that the game sells copies.

So if they don't want it to be successful, we should be supportive of their wishes.

Obviously sales for Platinum did matter, as the game would have sold 0 copies on X360/X1/PS3/PS4 - the game was cancelled. This way Platinum could finish Bayonetta 2 at all and it will get noticable better sales as if they weren't releasing it.

Nintendo already paid for everything so I doubt Platinum needs the sales. Nintendo does though. The win/loss scenario would've been the same if they didn't release it at all. No game to release, no cost to develop. And it's not like they wouldn't have work without Nintendo either. Microsoft proabably pays good money for Scalebound as well.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Those Bayonetta numbers are low.

You say 'anymore' as if you thought it WOULD do decent numbers in Japan in 2015. What changed your mind: the lack of games this year or the huge list of Japanese centric games next year?

they lack of japan games on wiiu manage to sell hardware or even do decent software units.

while mobile games are still big.

if japan dont care about 1080p and real life grafic fidelity, i donst see why ps4 hardware or ps4 japan games should do way better than the wii u and its games

is bloodborn bigger than pimkin?

is final fantasy bigger than mario kart?

is sony bigger than nintendo?

Those aren't the only japanese games that the PS4 will get, it'll be the full force of japanese third parties that will make or break the system and all japanese third parties combined plus Sony are most definitely bigger than Nintendo, that's why the PS1 crushed the N64, the PS2 crushed the GC and the PS3 still came so close to the Wii even after the tremendous lead the Wii had (5 million at one point)

What do you expect? The PS4 should do better next year, without a question. But not extremely better. I expect maybe a 10-15K baseline. Home consoles in Japan are struggling.

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Listen to the man that had the first reply in that thread, he's a genius.

Well, looks like most posters were sceptic.

And the X1 is already in danger of going below 1000 in just 3 weeks... Just wow...

They are and I don't know what it'll do next year exactly, though I do believe it'll do better than the Wii U. My point is just that only once the third parties are definitely there on PS4 and are ideally exclusively there, that's when we'll see the PS4s japanese potential. Right now I'd say that potential may be something like 6-8 million units, though if DQ XI actually comes to PS4 and if it's actually a fullfledged single player DQ, then that number could easily go higher.

Better than WiiU should be a given. They currently do about the same, and WiiU is nearing it's peak while PS4 is on it's first year. But I wouldn't put too much expectation into PS4 (or any home console) in Japan at this point.

I think Tropical Freze sold around 35 thousand first week, and had sold 106 thousand according to the last data we had.

At least Platinum is still in the market developing games, most of their titles seem to underperform commercially yet they keep getting contracts to make new games, and thank god for that, they´re an amazing developer.

This was pretty much as expected. The game will be great but it's not going to be a sales success. People should just realize that.

not yet coney ;/ we must wait for the western release...many games have shown that we must not take japan sales  as an indication of bad or good sales in the west;)
