I have already seen the PS4 selling for £319.99 here in the UK!

Very surprised that the Xbone has officially dropped the price this low however as the PS4 one is not official!

that breakdown is kind of wrong.

why sould a cheap standard blu ray player and psu be more expensive than a custom build one only for ps4?

The difference in Blu-Ray cost is royalities... MS pays, Sony not... that increase by $4 the MS Blu-Ray.

MS uses a more expensive GDDR3... you have the model and specs... so the price is right... to fit a 256bits buss you need more modules to reach 8GB that is more expensive than the retail GDDR3 that uses less modules with bigger density (cheaper).

Hmm, I doubt it's that much. I think both consoles have almost the same price in manufacturing, PS4 could be even higher. And I heard a while ago that Sony is starting to make money with PS4 hardware so MS could be on profit with the hardware, too.


Because of the esRAM in the XBO I think it's more expensive. Add that to the fact that it is ever so slightly larger, and larger things have higher shipping costs, MS might be spending a bit more money per XBO sold than Sony are.

Price for Xbox ram includes eSram, and eSram is expensive, so it doesn't semm too high.

Ur right the problem is marketing, the x1 hasn't had much. It will change this holiday season. How it does this holiday with halo, sunset overdrive, forza and addition to that the exclusive marketing from unity, COD and FIFA will tell us how it's going to do this generation. Does it have the chance to beat the ps4(at least in us and uk) or is it going to be 3-2 or 2-1 in its strongest markets.



Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

They've been advertising loads in the UK. Always see the multiplayer and best games adverts all the time.
