why sould a cheap standard blu ray player and psu be more expensive than a custom build one only for ps4?

The difference in Blu-Ray cost is royalities... MS pays, Sony not... that increase by $4 the MS Blu-Ray.

MS uses a more expensive GDDR3... you have the model and specs... so the price is right... to fit a 256bits buss you need more modules to reach 8GB that is more expensive than the retail GDDR3 that uses less modules with bigger density (cheaper).
