I never understood why people were thinking that two new competitors wouldn't damage its sales. After PS4 and X1 get a library, things will go downhill.

Are you Dr. Octopus's little brother?
The WiiU might reach 21 million. You never know.

I thought the Virtual Boy was considered a Handheld... Least I remembr Nintendo advertising that big ugly red brick as a handheld...
Least the Wii U will NEVER fall under grace like that. Then again, to be next to the Virtual Boy on ANY list is like reaching more under than failure... o.O

See, this is the most backwards logic I ever saw in my time here; there were actually quite a few that said the PS4 and One would help the Wii U rather than hurt it. Crazy thinking, if I ever saw it. It can only get worse from here on out, imo.
Pretty safe prediction, they are about 30-40% behind the GameCube and they have already spent 2D Mario, 3D Mario, DKC, and Mario Kart. That's 4 of their 6 biggest selling home console IP (minus the Wii/party games that have had their sales fall off a cliff).
The gap is not going to close anytime soon either as the GameCube's biggest holiday was 2003, meaning that GCN lead will grow larger after this holiday is done even with Smash Brothers (GameCube got a $99 price cut + Mario Kart: Double Dash).
I hope you're wrong, personally I think the Wii U will sell around 20-30 million units lifetime, due to Zelda, smash and kart. The Wii U will end up last this gen of that I am 99% certain. But on the other hand I still see the Wii U being just as the gamecube profitable at the very end. Next year's baseline will be around 40.000 units a week, so I expect the console to move 5 million units next year (15 million) and the following years it will sell due to bundels and perhaps a metroid, f-zero a 3d mario.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
