yeah, but by that time ps2 was killing it... this time around is diferent ...oh wait... :P

20-25
it is tracking below GC. But GC at this time already had all the big hits. Wii U momentum is only starting. 2015 will be better than 2014.
Not a very risky prediction. It's going to be a struggle to even reach 16m.
Predictions for LT console sales:
PS4: 120M
XB1: 70M
WiiU: 14M
3DS: 60M
Vita: 13M
18,000,000 at the max when all is said and done.
Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287
I think it will pass 25 million, if the cool games keep on coming, like Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid and FZero...
| Wazowski said: Ok, this is not to piss any fan, i like the Wii U, but anyway i'm calling it now. Wii U is heading to it's 2nd birthday, and by now, it sold a bit more than 7m, by the end of the year it will be around 10m (with luck) I think even Nintendo knows they need to step up, and with 2 great competitors and (almost) no multiplat support, the gap between other consoles will only get bigger. I can see they announcing a new console by 2016.. what you guys think? Please be polite in comments

Then that mean they Wii U would have sold worse than the Gamecube, and the Wii U is a much better system than the gamecube.
I will say it will sell around 23 million. That's it.

The initial Gamecube price cut was in reaction to a bigger more aggressive price cut made by the PS2.
NGC launch price $199 --> cut to $149 (-$50) in May 2002.
PS2 launch price $299 --> cut to $199 (-$100) in May 2002.
That PS2 price cut basically stopped the GC in it's tracks. In the end the PS2 price cut was enough to keep it's momentum going, and to note around 80% of all PS2 sold were priced at $199 or under.

We don't really know what could happen. For all we know, Splatoon may be the second coming of Halo or Mario Maker might bust out to be a Minecraft-lite success, or maybe (not) Xenoblade will usurp the favor and fandom of Final Fantasy by being a better game and... releasing. More than likely, none of these things will happen but they could, and the world could flip on its head. :P
