About what most people expect. Nintendo consoles always peak in their third year (3DS amazingly peaked in its first year in the US).

2012: 2.2m~
2013: 3.2m~
2014: 4m~
2015: 4m~ (less system selling software but price cut)
2015: 2m
2016: 1m
2017 Onwards: 1m~

17m~ total.

We have no signs it will do anything above 25m. Calls of 35m and 40m are silly, it'd need to start doing 8m a year now.

2012: 2.2m~
2013: 3.2m~
2014: 10m
2015: 10m
2016: 6m
2017: 3m
2018 onwards: 2m

36m total. How unrealistic does that projection look given sales up to this day? It means doing 4m+~ in the US. That is more than what it has done LTD (22 months~)

And no, it is not likely WiiU will go beyond a 3rd year peak. I will have to research but I don't think any Nintendo home console has managed that? Only PS3 and 360 broke the mould.

you constantly call fool ,silly etc people and their predictions that you dont like, come on use other words.I m finding your prediction too low,i never used insultive words ;)!it s too early for certain predictions, but you make them!i m sure that back in 2007 you were making low predictions for ps3.I will never understand why you don t try to be cautious!36m predictions are about to remain the same,be reduced or increased, lets wait for 2015 and price cuts!no one can be sure...neither those who predict low nor those who predict high!you said third year is the peak year!the third year is 2015,why you predict same sales with 2014...:O :/

Excuse me? I said predictions of 35m are silly, because they are. Didn't insult anyone so stop making stuff up.

Back in 2007 PS3 was selling better than WiiU is now, at $500. But even then people could see PS3 had a an audience to target and that has been my argument all along. (as it is with XB1). WiiU does NOT have an audience to target. The casuals will never be interested because it's not the IT product of its time, it's not accessible like the Wii and mobiles and tablets have that mindshare. And as for core, it has no third party.

In 2008 when PS3 started getting its big games, it saw huge gains. We're not seeing the same for WiiU. Stop comparing them. Look at my projection above. 10m a year for WiiU is silly and isn't happening.

Seriously? I believe it will end its commercial run with similar numbers to the GC (21-23 millions) just for the simple reason that this generation is suffering in sales and it will need a market life similar or longer than the last generation (which is, curiously, still selling more than it is supposed to be)

What? The Wii U has not even done 2 million YTD, and you expect it to do over 3 million in the next 4 months?

Then 2015, why would sales be that much better compared to 2014? Nothing that year has anything that can be deemed a bigger system seller than MK8 and Smash, besides a price drop. 2015 at most will equal 2014.

Why do you think the Wii U will last 6 years before a succesor is released? The Wii lasted that long, and that was the best selling Nintendo console. The worst selling isn't lasting 6 years. If anything, the succesor will be released in 2016/17.

2012: 2.2m [2.2m]
2013: 3.2m [5.4m]
2014: 3.6m [9.0m]
2015: 3.1m [12.1m]
2015: 2.3m [14.4m]
2016: 1.2m [15.6m]
2017 (New HW): .8m [16.4m]
2018 Onwards: .5m [16.9m]

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Wii U have sold last year 1.1m on December, and 500K on November, and 200K on October for a total of 1.8m last Q4.

Wii U have sold 1.8m now, so, you think that by now, Wii U will sell EQUAL by last year?

Wii U will probabily sell 300,000-350,000 on October, 700,000-800,000 on November, and above 2m on December, for a total of 3m for rest of year, so yes.

If you think that is impossible: Wii U in 2013 have sold in Q4 more than in Q1+Q2+Q3, ineed 1.8m in Q4 and 1.4m in rest of year for a total of 3.2m.

And even this year, Q4>Q3+Q2+Q1

Wii U will sell minimum 10,000,000 by end of year. Even PS4 and XO will probabily sell this Q4 more tha Q1+Q2+Q3...

Also, only because the Wii and GC peak was the second year, does not mean, i think that the Wii U peak will be the third year thanks a massive price drop, and the SSBU effect continued for first month of 2015 (like MK8 effect was lasted 3-4 month)

Well it's trailing the GameCube, thus so far beating 21Mil would be a surprise.

Not again!this is wrong!why comparing sales of the current console with the predecessor or even worse with you predecessor's predecessor,to predict its sales?with that logic,ps4 which dominates ps2 will sell more than ps2 and xbone which dominates xbox360 will sell more than xbox360..for god's sake

Why would they make a new console when the Wii U can run any game Nintendo want it to. The New 3DS is the same as a gamepad and will work as one.

There is nothing in October for the Wii U to sell 300k-350k. If anything, it'll do 200k-250k in October. I can agree with November somewhat, but I think the range will be 600k-700k. December is around 1.2m-1.5m.

Any price drop in 2015 will not be that effective, as the PS4 will be eating up sales, and the Xbox One will most likely get some price drop, decreasing the significance of a Wii U price drop.

Smash's effect will be ate up through the Holidays. The baseline in January-March will probably be a 5k-10k incease from this year. (40k-50k) When there are fewer 3rd party titles to keep droughts from happening in 2015, the Wii U will be hitting so many lows that any increase will just be negated.

200,000 is too low, is little more than last year.

250,000 is the minimum, and 350,000 is possible.

December only 100K-400K more than last year?

In my honestly opinion, the minimum is the 2012 number (1.7m), Wii U will probabily sell 500K only the week before chrismas. (350K last year).

Also, i think that on jenuary the Wii U basis will be above 60K-65K.
