Nintendo tries to force 3rd party games to make UNIQUE experiences with their UNIQUE controllers and they are viewed as the bad guy when those 3rd party companies either refuse to do it and, thereby, make games only for other devices where they use (for the most part) the same controller scheme that has been used for the past 15  years or when those third party companies only do horrible port versions of their games (AC3 wow just WOW!)? How ridiculous is that.

I agree with the playstation thing because a lot of developers do disagree with Nintendo's way of things, however I think it's their fault and not Nintendo's.

The point is, Nintendo HAS to be controlling because they are the ONLY ones pushing innovation. Yea sure the other companies do things eventually (typically after Nintendo does) but even when they do they often don't even hardly at all focus on it. Gaming will only advance when innovation is the focus, and most sequel games on ps3 - > ps4 or 360 - > one are just the same gameplay with enhanced graphics... yippie. There are, of course, exceptions to this:

Arkham Series

Assassins Creed 4 I am LOVING right now. It makes 3 and 1 look like a horrible joke in terms of gameplay enjoyment.

When the world disagrees with you, I guess its their fault I guess. Nintendo wants unique games but that was when Nintendo had the power over the market. Nintendo lost that and refused to work with third parties to keep their libraries stacked. They wanted to call the shots, ignore the formats third parties wanted to work with and not listen to the advice from third parties concerning where third party games were going. Nintendos powertrip is was and always will be their issue with third parties.  If they would've pushed back the Wii U's release and listened to third party they wouldn't have been laughed at by Epic when the head didnt want them to use Unreal 4 because the Wii U wouldn't make proper use of it like the new current gen consoles outside of the Wii U. Since 2011 devs in the media had been talkig about what they want for next gen games and Nintendo never listened. They only listened after they created their console. Thats how they've been and thats how they'll always be until they are financially threatened.

Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony all want unique experiences from third parties on their respective consoles. That was never the issue as long as they are investing in it.

You mean we could have played Nintendo franchises on a true-HD device with standard third-party support and without the gimmicks? Dear lord, please turn back time.

Chill: Nintendo will eventually go 3rd party. Microsoft, Sony, and now Apple, FREAKING APPLE are claiming their stake in the industry.

To be excited about this there would have had to been no RROD problem on the 360, no Kinect, and a desire for their 3rd party games that outweighed the desire for the quality of Nintendo's first party games.

Please God, leave time the exact way it is. Microsoft's body isn't ready.

I think Nintendo would partner with one of those companies or someone else before ever going 3rd party. But they're a long ways away from having to do that anyway.

Thank god that never happened. Nintendo franchises would have been ruined.

From a business standpoint, this was a bad move. Nintendo still doesn't have that kind of capital and they probably never will. On the flip side: God knows they would have been shut down by now if MS took over.

Glad that didn't happen otherwise they would of ended up like Sega. Out of the console business

I think Nintendo values their independence too much to partner up. I think they'd prefer to have options.

Yeah, I remember this very well. Fun times.
