Well at least Nintendo would actually have a real online network and appeal to more than the casual/kid audience.
But who knows, had this deal gone through we might not have Halo.

They would've had Halo as well. Without buying Bungie away from Apple Microsofts entrance into the gaming industry would've been pointless. It would've been just another purchased ontop of purchases to keep their relevance up.
Think about it. Bungie -> Rare -> Kinect -> Gears -> and I believe the makers of Minecraft now. They just buy everything. Microsofts ability to create is slim.

Microsoft joined the gaming industry because they wanted to partner with Sony and Sony turned them down so they vowed to destroy them. This is primarily because of Sony delving into the home multimedia region of things and bringing videogames with them into that new era. Anyone who creates a multimedia hub type of device is a threat to Microsoft.

Well, they actually do have a real online network and appeal to more than the casual/kid audience, even if you're not willing to acknowledge that. In fact, the reason you don't is because that's not what Nintendo is about. They're not PC wannabes like some other companies around the gaming market. They do their own thing and that's how they got to where they are in the first place. Had Microsoft bought them, all that Nintendo magic wouldn't exist anymore. Instead, we'd be getting some crap like that ridiculous "realistic" Zelda poster someone posted above. If that's what you want from them, then I don't know how you even like their games to begin with. |

Nintendo magic? what is that actually? What would be wrong with a realistic Zelda? and I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't have a online network, I'm saying the network they currently have is a joke compared to PSN, XBL, and STEAM etc.....

You'd think you would get sick of that shtick of yours, but whatever.
While they may have gotten the games right, console wise, they're still stuck in the past.

Bet with Xander XT:
I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

I guess this closes off the argument. Each sentence here clearly shows you've no idea what makes Nintendo and their games special. I might be totally wrong, but based on this post it really sounds like you haven't played too much of their games in quite a long time. Otherwise, you would know what Nintendo magic is and what's so wrong with a realistic Zelda. And yes, I do get that you're saying Nintendo Network is a joke compared to the other ones, but as I previously said, they're not PC wannabes like Xbox and PlayStation - their network works just fine for what the Wii U is (granted, not as useful on the 3DS). |
Well I've never owned a Nintendo console and I've only owned a 3DS/ DS for a short while. So no I don't know what this supposed "Nintendo magic" is. Is it some sort of made up thing Nintendo fans use to justify Nintendo's lack of moving on from the 90's?
