You mean we could have played Nintendo franchises on a true-HD device with standard third-party support and without the gimmicks? Dear lord, please turn back time.

Chill: Nintendo will eventually go 3rd party. Microsoft, Sony, and now Apple, FREAKING APPLE are claiming their stake in the industry.

I think Nintendo would partner with one of those companies or someone else before ever going 3rd party. But they're a long ways away from having to do that anyway.

I think Nintendo values their independence too much to partner up. I think they'd prefer to have options.

You don't have more options as a third party though. You basically have no say in hardware design for example as a third party, but if Nintendo was partnered with one of the other hardware manufacturers, they probably would get input in hardware design, branding, and other decisions.

They'd have way more options as trp, PS xbox PC/steam Moible talblet is way more options then wiiu.  Also nothign is stopping them from making their own handhled and releasing their games exclusivly on it while releasing on all consoles

By the way not including handhelds, why would any one want their imput on hardware?  Its been a weakness of theirs for a few gens now.

And lets not pretand they need some magical nintendo hardware to make games, they would make generally the same games be in on PS4 PC or wiiu.  There nothing about their hardware that makes their games special in any way nor anything about the other hardware that would make it hard for them.
