Forums - Nintendo - Xenoblade Chronicles is a Game-Changer for Nintendo

The remaining 3% is still owned by Namco as far as I know. This is why Monolith developed some games for DS / 3DS that were not made for Nintendo, for example Project X Zone and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans.

By that excuse for logic, you must think 99% of all games flopped.

The fact stands that xenoblade sold very well, almost 1 million for a new ip with no advertising and limited print that sold out.

Xenoblade X is not a new ip and has much more global awareness + marketing. there's absolutely no logic in saying xeno x can't outsell the first game.

Just going to mention that the game was pirated over a million times in less than a year.

Once again, we're talking about the customer base it had. A very small audience. I'm not instulting the game's sales or it's quality, I'm saying that it won't be a game changer for nintendo, which it won't.

Oh, we're talking about Consumber Base? Oh, I thought we were talking about Sales. Because that's a whole different level.

Yep, 100M potential consumers, and less than 1% went for it.

Jesus christ dude. Could it outsell the first one? yes, but I'm not seeing much more than a million, especially considering the console that it's on. Also, your 99% doesn't really make sense.

This game looks like a decent RPG. It doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look great either.

This is the problem right here. Many western players are not willing to give it a chance and don't really have a clue what they are missing because the general consensus is that Nintendo just makes Mario.

Danman27, this game looks amazing and it will be nothing like any other 3rd person RPG you ever played. As was Xenoblade chronicles. The only game that comes close to the ammount of exploration and vastness is the Elder Scrolls series. Xenoblade is the Japanese Elder scrolls, with probably more variety of envyronments . The game should be beeing praised as much as Skyrim... and now that they added mechs, its even deeper.

This was difficult to read.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

It seems as though you ignored my piracy argument. The first game may not have sold over a million units, but it was pirated over a million times.

Looking forward... Love new ideas, concepts, ideas, and outbursts of creativity :---). Ill pick the new one up 4sure.

One thing I disagree with the OP on is Xenoblade's side quests. Yes there are a lot of them that could take a lot of time if you do them all, but they're also extremely mundane and repetitive as far as sidequests go. I had absolutely no desire to do them all because most of them were just boring fetch quests or something like that. It's the one aspect I thought Xenoblade failed at. Otherwise I do agree it was a brilliant game and an important franchise for Nintendo (and even more important for JRPG's) going forward.

good to have this game, wonder why nintendo has not made a deal with the creators of last story and make either a remake or new game

Alright, allow me to explain. Not all sidequests are fetch and monster quests. Only the non-important sidequests were like that. If you only get sidequests from NPCs with names, they will all have stories attached to them, all have character development, all have affinity, and all have lore with them. These are the ones that give you the most experience, the most enjoyment, and a better experience.

I tend to think of Bethesda RPG's as first person RPG's. If that is what you meant.

I edited to make it an easier read anyways. :)

This will be a bit controversial, but the reason why is because The last story is not a very good game and Xenoblade is the real deal.

To justify so the last story fans dont goble me up, the last story is a very linear and slow paced game and the gameplay is very simplistic. Not only that but it was quite buggy. I am sure that if someone like Miyamoto played that game he would clearly say no to any more of that. The gameplay is resumed to placing circles on the ground and walking towards your enemy to attack (and point towards him, its all automated, you dont control slashes).
