Ok. does that change the fact that it had poor sales worldwide? It's not my fault nintendo made a stupid decision.

Nintendo did make a stupid decision but the sales far exceeded expectations (and probably the budget too, since the game wasn't even HD). Poor sales is an odd statement to make here because we're not comparing it to anything other than bigger numbers. This was a niche product that turned into a cult hit and classic to the point that all of its copies sold out, a whole bigger HD game got funded, and the game's name is widespread... and is also getting a 3DS release.

Once again, we're talking about the customer base it had. A very small audience. I'm not instulting the game's sales or it's quality, I'm saying that it won't be a game changer for nintendo, which it won't.

To be fair I am rating it solely on it's combat system. I don't know about the story, I've heard nothing but good things. I just couldn't get in to it because of the combat, same problem I had with FF12. Long RPGs like those really need to have a combat system you like since you'll be using it a lot. |
Understood, of course if you don't like the cs you can't enjoy the game. :)
I'm here also to improve my english, so tell me if you notice some errors.
| Soundwave said: I honestly would be surprised if Xenoblade X on the Wii U hits even 1 million WW in sales. The original didn't hit that on the much larger Wii userbase and games like DKC and Pikmin 3 (much better known franchises) are having problems getting to the 1 million LTD on the Wii U. |
I remember that sales of the original weren't that hot in Japan (~160k), while it sold quite well in the West? The uncertainty of a release in North America and eventual arrival almost a year after the EU release made it one of the most pirated games of 2011. It would easily have sold more than a million if NoA didn't totally waste the opportunity.

But who is expecting it to be a game-changer other than the OP? No single game is ever a game changer anymore. Its another solid brick in the road to making the game change. (I never agreed with the OP, mind. I just don't agree with "numbers" being thrown around as they are.)

Oh, we're talking about Consumber Base? Oh, I thought we were talking about Sales. Because that's a whole different level.

My point asserted. This game didn't sell well, so its affect on the wiiU will be minimal. Now I don't care if it suprassed expectations, it's not a game changer. You come in defending its low sales. You're defending the OP. I haven't read every comment on this thread. I don't know what else you've been saying on here.

Yep, 100M potential consumers, and less than 1% went for it.

Tell me, ever heard of something called piracy?
Pokemon Black was pirated over 30 Million times
It's strange how many people get a game illegitimately and are still impressed with the game they play.
