Hmm, the article does say Nintendo only own 97% of them though...

Sarcasm?

Kind of.

Although I do find it odd they don't have the last 3%  I wonder if that is owned by the employees or something...

Some other shareholders probably. They got everything Namco had. It just isn't worth buying 100% of a company.

Maybe Nintendo doesn’t need Mario. Maybe what Nintendo needs is a JRPG for the ages. Maybe Nintendo needs Xenoblade Chronicles.

I'm not sure, but I NEED Xenoblade Chronicles :D

This^

They bought out all competing interest groups, ie. Namco. The last 3% is company internal, likely.

With the way the current market is, JRPGs aren't exactly on the top of anyone's list.

Still, it's a welcome addition to the Wii U line up

This game looks like a decent RPG. It doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look great either.

This is the problem right here. Many western players are not willing to give it a chance and don't really have a clue what they are missing because the general consensus is that Nintendo just makes Mario.

Danman27, this game looks amazing and it will be nothing like any other JRPG you have played. As was Xenoblade chronicles. The only game that comes close to the ammount of exploration and vastness is the Elder Scrolls series. Xenoblade is the Japanese Elder scrolls, with probably more variety of envyronments . The game should be beeing praised as much as Skyrim... and now that they added mechs, its even deeper.

Ever played the first Xenoblade?
If no: You can't understand.
if yes: Can you explain why? The first was Awesome, this one will be the same.

Based on things I've seen, it looks like it will be ok. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying that I don't see this being a game changer for nintendo. Xenoblade also had pretty awful sales. Just saying. I'm not saying it's a testament to its quality, I'm saying it's a testament to how much it will affect wiiU's sales.

I play Japanese games, this one doesn't look interesting.

IMO it was terrible... but this article compared the combat to FF 12, which I also thought was terrible so that's probably why...

Never payed FF12.. well, i enjoyed the game (XC) and i've never met someone who has hated it. You are the first bro :D
The Combat system works perfectly for me, it was well balanced, neither easy or frustrating :)

People need to stop repeating this. The game was copy limited and GameStop exclusive. Go ahead and try to find a mint copy of this game.
