If that is exclusive to the new sku that is pretty shitty. I shouldn't have to buy the a third version of the same console to play a game

Then ... don't play it.

Xenoblade is obviously not possible on the old 3DS hardware at least not without big trade-offs.

Nor is the new Zelda game, maybe they should make another handheld next year just to port that

Lol you guys are being suchl entitled gamers. If XBC couldnt run on 3DS then its not coming to 3DS and never would have. However a new model of the 3DS can run itso its being made for it. If you dont want to upgrade then deal with the fact that you arent playing it. Others who want to upgrade shouldnt have to miss out on stuff like this because you are being entitled.

Silly me.  I apologize for thinking that my recently purchased 3ds would be able to play new games coming out for the system.

Quote of the day.

That's really stupid, WTF Nintendo? I hope this turns out to be untrue :/

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

I really never understand why people keep bring up the GBC. To me it was always a new handheld with BC. And was 8 years after the GB was made. Only the GB, GB Pocket, GB Light are apart of the same line. The GBC was its own line. Like the GBA, GBA SP, GBA SP 2, GB Micro. I don't count the DS, DS Lite apart of the GBA line. Just because it had a GBA cart port.

This tweet sums it up nicely.... what a nightmare.

Don't forget: The 2DS can play any new 3DS game, except NEW 3DS games, which don't work on the 3DS.

It already has frame rate issues as it is. I don't even think you would be able to play it even if it was compatible.

GBC? No?

The GBC came out almost 9 years after the original.

GBC? No?

pointing out other times nintendo fucked over its costumers doenst make this time any better. however the GBC was a different situation, but it doesnt have anything to do with this.

I still haven't gotten round to play the Wii version of this yet. And quite frankly, I don't really want to play it on Wii. I was thinking of Dolphin'ing it.

Now I can play on 3DS! And I haven't bought a 3DS yet, so I'm not going to have to trade it in for a new model!

You're in for a treat, Xenoblade is great, I chose to play it with the pro classic controller (I had the LE set that included the red one) which IMO is the best way to play the game.

Does this new 3DS have dual analogue? They may manage to lure me back over to the thing if it has that and comes somewhere close to Vita. 3DS was far to underpowered, the fact that they can't get a port of Xenoblade to run on it, when the Wii was a slightly beefed up GameCube confirms this entirely and 1 analogue stick utterly ruins most standard gaming genres. (I also hated many PSP games due to this).

If they're fixing both those I do have hope for somewhere to migrate when Vita releases dry up. I also hope they beef up the resolution of the screen to at least 480p.

The only other thing they'd need to address then is the overpricing of the hardware. £200 is an utter joke for a 3DS XL when it doesn't even include a charger plug for that and people moan about Vita memory card prices (when it's £135 for a Vita with 10 games and a 16gb memory card). They definitely need to launch sub £200 and the equivalent pricing elsewhere.

So yeah... I might finally get back into 3DS gaming if they don't mess this up.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I hope this time it gets released outside of the US
