too much input lag is not on me.  Traditional controls worked just fine

As I said, it sounds like your M+ unit was faulty, because the input lag was near negligible if you played the way the game was supposed to be played.

I've heard at least as many people complaining about the motion controls as praising them and the fact that Nintendo is probably only going to use them for aiming (as in WWHD) is very telling as far as how much people were satisfied with them.  I love Zelda but they were held back for 2 games (less so with TP because it kept things simpler)

I think the fact that they didn't return to motion controls for WWHD is more telling of the fact that the game isn't on the Wii, and it was a remake of a GC game @.@

I know that a lot of people weren't satisfied with them but I maintain that a majority of that is due to user error.

It is nice to see Skyward Sword get some love.

then obviously they weren't natural for too great a number of people.  The fact that there have been so many complaining about them has to mean something.  This isn't hating on a game or anything a lot of them are Zelda fans (including myself) it's just hating on ONE aspect (which does hold the game back imo) so I feel like it's gotta be more justified than just haters throwing out insults to something they don't like anyway.

Its a new way to play, obviously it isn't natural, but that doesnt make it bad. Its like when you get used to playing with inverted controls and then play a game without them (except on a larger scale). Its tough, and its hard to get your head around. That doesn't mean non-inverted controls are bad, just different. A lot of people don't want to put in the effort to learn new ways to play, but to me, it is one of the most refreshing things a game can do. Giving me a new way to play makes the entire game feel fresh. Its part of the reason I loved Kid Icarus Uprising, or Red Steel 2 or Skyward Sword or even Demon Souls. You can't play them like a normal game, whether it is due to the controls or the style. Doesn't make the games bad, but you have to put in effort to learn how to play a game correctly...

I understand not liking the controls, and I doubly understand that if there was some mechanical malfunction that prevented you from playing the game as it was meant to be played, but that does not make them bad. It just makes it different... Its unfortunate that everyone wasn't able to get the same joy out of it that I was, but I don't believe that to be exclusively the fault of the game...

Nice to see someone enjoying Zelda SS!

well not exclusively as you would have to have a very good setup in place.  Maybe my sensor bar was slightly off or something but it never seemed to effect other games then again I didn't have any other motion plus games.  Also non-inverted is the only way I play lol.  For me I like innovation not in control mechanics, which I think have been fine since the first dualshock minus a few tweaks, but in storytelling and on-screen mechanics and such (like Puppeteer's stage setup).  Then again I don't crave radical innovation as much as the next guy and am often happy with a well-crafted and fulfilling narrative with solid gameplay even if there's nothing entirely new on the table like 3d Mario, Uncharted, Zelda (as far as the setup of the game goes with dungeons and all), Ratchet and Clank of course, and many more of my favorite franchises that are often criticized for lack of innovation.  As far as I'm concerned if I'm having fun I don't care if I've had fun in a similar manner before.  I only care if it FEELS repetitive and none of those games have ever felt that way so I guess new/continuing stories and new encounters and new setpieces, and new puzzles and enemies and weapons were enough.

The list looked good until Skyward Sword was #1.
I really think thats the worst Zelda game.

I even like Zelda 2 more

Shadow of Collosus is one of my favorite games too though but, for some reason I always forget about it.
