This isn't hating on a game or anything a lot of them are Zelda fans (including myself) it's just hating on ONE aspect (which does hold the game back imo) so I feel like it's gotta be more justified than just haters throwing out insults to something they don't like anyway. |
Its a new way to play, obviously it isn't natural, but that doesnt make it bad. Its like when you get used to playing with inverted controls and then play a game without them (except on a larger scale). Its tough, and its hard to get your head around. That doesn't mean non-inverted controls are bad, just different. A lot of people don't want to put in the effort to learn new ways to play, but to me, it is one of the most refreshing things a game can do. Giving me a new way to play makes the entire game feel fresh. Its part of the reason I loved Kid Icarus Uprising, or Red Steel 2 or Skyward Sword or even Demon Souls. You can't play them like a normal game, whether it is due to the controls or the style. Doesn't make the games bad, but you have to put in effort to learn how to play a game correctly...
I understand not liking the controls, and I doubly understand that if there was some mechanical malfunction that prevented you from playing the game as it was meant to be played, but that does not make them bad. It just makes it different... Its unfortunate that everyone wasn't able to get the same joy out of it that I was, but I don't believe that to be exclusively the fault of the game...
