Forums - Gaming - Bioware won't leave gay characters out of their RPGs

Short hair lesbian.(Elf, too, another gay stereotype in the genre)

Mustacheoed gay man.

1) Angelina Jolie in Hackers (with elf ears). Or maybe a Vulcan.

2) A British Dandy created by somebody who needs to be sacked. That moustache has the right idea, but terrible execution.

Well then. they should not brag about it like they are the only ones that do gay people (or multi racial) people justice.

It was bad about Mass Effect too. Every character was stereotypical, In streotypes that I doubt would still exist in that time in the future.

I've only played ME3 but what was sereotypical about the homosexual characters?  Liara? Steve Cortez? Samantha Traynor?

Its not really good to include them just for being "gay characters" they shouldn't shoehorn them and have them stereotypically gay (like Dragon Age Origins) they should make them a character first and sexuality second.
or make them just sexual neutral like how japanese light novels do. no "Gay romance" feels "weird" just the same as other romances.

This. There's no need to change the looks or personality of the characters, just let it feel natural. Seriously, the homosexual characters in the game look so stereotyped right now. I have friends that are gay in real life, and none of them act like that.

Well can't basically everyone be homosexual in mass effect?

I don't think so, I know a couple can be both, I don't think all of them can. I just hate when characters are blatantly stereotyped like they are in Inquisition :/

That's pretty cool from them. But if only they employed the same sex relationships on a much better way than Mass Effect 3. Put more thought on the relationship and less on the sex. The last thing they want is a shameless display like in Ride to Hell: Retribution. That being said, it's good that they aren't forcing it on all gamers and that they are offering options. Also, I believe it's still too early for a videogame with a gay protagonist.

I love how in the gaming community we can have shitty shoehorned in heterosexual romances and nobody cares. But if you shoehorn in a homosexual romance you're all of a sudden being pandering.

As long as it's optional. Theres nothing worse than forcing something like that on the player.

How do you know they are stereotyped? The game isn't even out yet.
