I don't know...Jim Ryan said they didn't need to buy exclusivity so it's your call

Err... no, he said "probably not". And then went on to talk about how they approach indie game developers and can provide financial support. aka a moneyhat. Maybe you didn't read the whole interview? Idk.

"It's a bit of both. We worked really hard this time around just to make the platform accessible to smaller developers - it's not having silly rules and procedures and bureaucracy, keeping the paperwork to a minimum, facilitating access to development kits, having a development environment that's fundamentally a whole lot easier to work with than it was last time around..."

"there are many ways to do it and we try not to be prescriptive and say "this is the template you have to follow, this is the path.""

Financial support isn't always "moneyhat", as someone above said.

Oh and btw, still waiting for an answer in that other thread.

I wonder if Bungie, From Studios and Hello Games are all good heart people that pay their workers with ice-cream.

So, don´t expect more than 3 or 4 exclusives a year for PS4.

Bloodborne is Sony owned IP, Sony is publishing the game. Owning and publishing your own IP that is just made by a 3rd Party is different then moneyhatting games away from other systems.

Bungie, I imagine there is some amount of money being transferred here. Yet I also feel like aligning with Sony is more of a marketing tactic for Bungie/Activision. This allows them to distance themselves from Halo yet make grabs to those those games might have appealed to but never got to play them. Playstation is uncharted territory for them. Not to mention COD/Titanfall/Halo are all vying for the same spotlight on the same console while Bungie is able to shine unhindered by similar games. If you look at 2014 holiday lineup, Sony does not have a single exclusive FPS slated, as they are giving Destiny a lot of room to flourish on their console alone. If I were a betting man I'd say Destiny will be close to 3:1 in PS4's favor.

Hello Games, I don't think Moneyhatting is what is going on here. I think Sony jumped at the opportunity to assist them translating their game to console with the understanding that the game would be timed exclusive for PS4. Console market for all intents and purposes is larger than PC market. I'm sure Hello Games jumped at the idea as well. I mean they basically dangled the bait to see who would come at last year's VGAs and Sony knocked first.

Destiny DLC says otherwise :).

DLC and full games are two completely different things :)

It's not only DLC it is also the right to advertise the game as exclusive (same as Watch Dogs).

Watch Dogs was never advertised as exclusive. That would be false advertising and would've got them sued.

What? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao2l9vi1Xyg No mention of 360 or Xbone version. In Germany since years Fifa games are shown as exclusive with no mention of Xbox versions available. One could argue that my wording would imply they actively say "exclusive" but by not mentioning other versions the outcome is the same.

Exclusives are virtually the only thing that differentiate Microsoft and Sony's consoles from one another

All it said was "60 minutes of exclusive gameplay only on PS4". If this game was a PS4 exclusive (or was meant to make people think that), that wouldn't be 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay....it'd just be "gameplay" since no other versions would be out to compare it to what's "exclusive to PS4".

That little blip at the end implies other versions exist, but only on PS4 do you get the bonus content.

Very different from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPhj4u-Yt0k where it flat out says the game is "Only on PS3"

Argubly. PS+, GoG, controllers, UI, secondary features like media playback, women acceptance factor, online experience... there are a lot of things that differentiate consoles from each other.

There is no implying when you have a shot like this:

Nobody would think this is also on another system. People would think PS4 exclusive content, otherwise PS3 version.

Not naming the existence for other game systems makes it appear as PS exclusive to most people out there.
