VGChartz has 100% accurate information for a small number of stores and then extrapolates that to the whole population, make some adjusments based on sample bias. No it isn't 100% anymore, but it does have a solid start point and is an approximate estimation based on that. Other trackers such as NPD do the exact same thing, they are only more reliable because they start with a much larger sample.


I think NPD gets data from like 48 % of all US retailers.

From what I hear it's more like 90%.

This isn't true. The highest percentage they've ever gotten is in the low 60s. They had to drop several retailers in order to get WalMart data.

Well, Vgcharts sure took a lot of time to make adjustments.

We got a lot of news from gamescom, but of course no news about the 10 million here .

Naaa, they'll adjust it to 10 million without adding the three to four weeks in that have passed since the announcement.

a bit late but uhmm.....well done Sony, 10 million sale within 9 month is quite an achievement. As if 1.2 million per month.....wow.
No new sales info about WiiU and XB1 though.....hope they doing well especially WiiU
