Erm, yeah, I'd say the SNES + N64 eras represent the best age for Nintendo 1st/2nd party output. Wii is the worst, while GameCube is a mixed bag ... some good games, but a lot of unasked for changes to the Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Star Fox, and Donkey Kong formulas and Mario game that disappointed. Kind of a weird time for Nintendo.

I wasn't all that disappointed. I mean, I barely touched the thing last gen, but I was already disappointed by the DS. So my expectations were pretty low and when I got the console, I got what I expected.

I then turned to Xbox 360 in the year 2007 and had fun at first. But turned out the thing breaks every time the wind blows in a false way or something. So after sending it in for like a bagillion times I just picked up a PS3 in 2008. Been happy with it until this very day, great hardware, great games. So yeah, Nintendo and to a lesser amount Microsoft turned me into a Sony fan by offering me products that didn't appeal to me. I gave everyone a chance, seriously. :P

I remember being very happy when I first got my Wii. I found that none of the Wii game have the lasting appeal of "Starcraft", but still provided any enjoyable experience. I eventual went on to start playing PC games and required decent GPU (including PC ports of Xbox 360 and PS3 games) and found that most of those games were not much better. There was better graphics, graphics do not lead to better level design or game play elements.

The issue with the Wii is that the casual video game market took it over and ruined its image in the mind of advanced or "hardcore" gamers. These casuals have now gone on to ruin the mobile market of video games. I just hope Nintendo focuses on its repeat customers while it lets the casual ruin the image of mobile games.

Games I have Finished

Absolutely, I gave up on Nintendo after the N64 after I realized the Playstation and later the OG xbox had much greater variety in games. So I skipped the gamecube. I bought the wii for a few exclusives like Zelda, Mario Kart, and Mario Party. All the games I played on the wii looked horrible on HD tvs. And, I only really liked Mario Kart. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

It did not have ONE decent racing game (except for MK).
Graphics on many (racing) games were worse than the Gamecube, maybe because of the mowe to HD TV.
Good games: Endless Ocean, Trauma Center, Galaxy, Zelda.
The best: you could play non-motion games with both arms relaxed resting beside you, not having to grasp a small controller (makes my limbs hurt).
The worst: forced motion controll instead of pressing a button.

Excite Truck, Excite Bots,  Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing and FAST Racing League were all decent.

I liked the Wii's first party offerings better than the Gamecube's. I liked the Gamecube's third party offerings more than the Wii's. It was a fantastic console paired to a computer or ps360.

I feel exactly the way you do. GameCube was far better console with supplying games then the Wii. I was too disappointed with the Wii. After saying that the Wii U is far better console in the first year and a half then the Wii in its lifetime, and has the best games out of all 8th gen consoles right now.

For me it was just the opposite, A Nintendo console that brought magic back to my video game life...

Galaxy, kart, Paper, Smash, Twilight, Skyward, Xanoblade, New Super, just to mention the best first party....

Switch!!!

No, I got a Punch-out!! game, Excitebots, the Rainfall games, MG1/2, Brawl/PM, TVC..... I still have games I need to start (and buy before they get super expensive.)

don't waste time
