It's weird...i bought a wii at launch (I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan and a fan of video games in general)...
By the time the GC and ps3 had run their course I was getting a bit sick of gaming and considered throwing in the towel
The wiis launch got me unexpectedly enthusiastic about gaming again, so much so that I ended up buying a 360 and PS3 , both of which I ended up using much more than my wii, which i.hardly touched after a while. I liked the idea of the wii at first, and thought it had much more potential as a game machine for gamers, not for granma's, but the few attempts at making decent games for the wii failed miserably and in the end there were 4 first party games I enjoyed. The GC sold much less but was, to me, a much more enjoyable console with a better catalogue of games...
having said that, at present I'm also enjoying the wii u much more than I ever enjoyed the wii, though as we all know it took a while to get there.

No, I love the Wii because it has one of the greatest games ever created, Xenoblade

Nope, it was amazing. The Nintendo console that was a let down for me was the Gamecube.

Yes because I think it was the first Nintendo console ever that really relied on mountains of shovelware, browsing the Wii aisle sometimes was like wading through an ocean of low quality fitness/cheap-o mini-games/lame spin-off titles/etc.

It was also the first Nintendo console to that point that didn't really offer any tangible step forward in the hardware tech from the previous generation and it looked really poor on an HDTV set, which was annoying. Imagine playing Super Mario World or Super Metroid or Zelda III ... on the NES chip instead of the SNES. No thanks. Advancing tech is a good thing.

Also Nintendo got stubborn with addressing basic things with the hardware like not allowing people to use SD Cards to increase the puny 512MB storage space for years which really hurt Wiiware. If casuals didn't care about it, then Nintendo basically decreed no one else did either, which sucked for the rest of us.

The 1st party stuff was good as always, but I thought it could've been a little better too. No Star Fox, Wave Race, F-Zero ... Nintendo kinda missed an opportunity to bring some of their classic IP to the bigger audience they had temporarily. At least DKC was rebooted. A game like Splatoon, if that launched around 2008 or 2009 probably would've been a big hit.

I think it's the best Nintendo console along the SNES and NES.

No, I really like the Wii. My first home console I bought with my own money... when I finally got one in March 2007 I was so happy. It was nearly impossible to find one so... Twilight Princess was and is still epic, just like Galaxy which is my favourite Wii game. Galaxy 2 was fantastic too. Skyward Sword has its faults, but as a swan song it was perfect.

Not all was good though, it had a lot of droughts in my opinion, luckily I was so happy with the already released games so it didn't bother me as much.

It didn't top the Gamecube for me but I had quite a lot of fun with the Wii. First party games were pretty top notch as a whole and while 3rd parties weren't too great there were a few gems here and there to check out, especially games ported over from the PS2.

i would be disapointed if we didnt have xenoblade.
