i said that because there seems to be a slight shift in the atittude about the wii u. it started as, well its actually a last gen console (somehow) so it cant compete on the level of ps4 and x1 (lol). and at this point, people actually see that this console has games whereas with th eps4, they thought it was going to have a lot more games at this point (other than remasters).

i really do think that people are slowly starting to see that the wii u is actually better than the other two at this point. yes, its slow, and yes people are still willing to put their faith in the ps4 (greatness awaits.. hopefully). also, just because the wii u has better games now doesnt mean that it will a year or two from now. BUT the fact that it has the best and most software available now is going to help it. and im sure it is going to pass the gamecube. id say the low end for wii u is about 30.

no it cant compete with the PS4 or One not on a technical level and that is a fact. No one thought the PS4 was going to have a lot more games by now. I love how people make stuff up, show me where anyone said that. THe system isnt even a year old yet.

WHere do you see that? it sure as hell isnt in the sales. PS4 is still killing it by a large number. If we are talking strictly xone then you have an argument but anything is just plain false.

it aint doing 30mil. Id say 25

well you and i both know that im not going to be digging up threads and such in the past, but i sure do remember a lot of "2014 will be the year of the 4" crap, people saying that its going to have uncharted 4, god of war 4, killzone 4, resistance 4 and other games that are going to be 4. and with mark cerny talking up short six month development cycles, i think a lot of people expected a little more games than what we have. oh yeah, and SECOND COMING OF THE PS2. glad that is out of everybody's system because its certainly no ps2.

and what you said about it cant compete with ps4 on a technical level, thats assuming that being "next gen" has to do with having 8GB of ram or whatever other standard sony has set on how powerful your console has to be in order to be next gen. i dont know why anybody would use that as a standard, but whatever. they came out with a console at the same time sony and ms did, and theyre all competing for the same money.

anyways, sales, at least in some part, do suggest that interest in wii u is raising. i mean, its base line nearly doubled since mk, and that raise in baseline is affecting sony's sales. i dont care what anybody says, the consoles are in a competition against eachother, and sales for one means there is a less chance of that person buying the other. so i do think there are a significant amount of people out there who chose to buy a wii u instead of a ps4 because of the games it had. and you know as well as i that it takes A LOT to turn around an image of a company. sony is still selling that many consoles because of the hype and the bad publicity of ms and nintendo at the start of this generation. it sure as hell isnt selling because of its library of games, its selling mainly because of pr reasons. look at gen 7 where, at the start, ms and nintendo had great publicity and sony was being made fun of all the time. it took almost the entire generation (about 2010) to fully change those perceptions, and now (2014) sony is king and people talk hella shit on x1 and wii u. think about it, the main reason the sales are the way they are is because of this great mismanagement of the wii u in the marketing department in the first year, the restrictive totalitarian policies ms was forcing on us with the x1, and sony capitalizing on that in combination with having a fantastic showing in feb2013. having a better game library is going to have a hard time competing with all of that. if nintendo keeps bringing games and fun experiences that are enticing to people, then the tides could turn eventually, but that doesnt mean sony is just going to sit back and make remasters all day long. sony will certainly fight back, its just that all this pr stuff has really shaped the sales how they are at this moment. i hope some of that made sense, im kind of high so forgive me if i just rambled and shit

Which Wii U multiplats are gimped because of the Wii U's hardware? If anything, the Wii U has experienced the best versions of multiplats for certain games, Need For Speed and Deus Ex are examples.

Skies of Arcadia Legends (Dreamcast), and Viewtiful Joe (PS2) also weren't exclusives. But it's to the Wii U's advantage that it has gotten multiplats while still getting just as many exclusive, not its disadvantage. Other than the eight third party games I had listed, what were some notable third party games released for the Gamecube between 2001 and 2003?

I really don't see, other than maybe the tablet, how Nintendo was/is trying to appeal to the mainstream demographic ("casuals".)

Pretty sure that any multiplat also available on PS4 and X1 are comparatively much worse on the Wii U.

If somebody only owns a Wii U that is a non-issue to them, just like those who played RE4 on the PS2 didn't lose out by not playing the better version on the GC and the best version on the Wii. I can say the same thing about my PC versions of multiplatform games in regards to the PS4/XBO, as well. Having said that, there are ways in which the Wii U version can be better on a case by case basis - framerate, tablet controls/off-screen play, etc, etc. Graphics (for scaleable games) are only one aspect a game can be better. Personally I'd rather play shooters on the Wii U than the PS4/XBO (assuming I didn't have a PC) for Wiimote controls alone.

what are these cases? cause as someone said if there is a PS4 x1 version its automatically not going to be the best version be default. You gonna really say AC4 was the best on WIi U? Lets be real about the tablet, 3rd parties hell even Ninty doesnt really use it in anyway. so that is mostly negated. You named about two games that we could argue about that are better on Wii U...TWO. thats not alot NFS and Deus Ex and even then its negated because they are late ports, in the case of the latter it was REALLY late. Youd rather play shooters on WIi U than PS4/X1? How is that possible when the system barely has any shooters, besides COD which even then the online isnt as good, it doesnt run as good and has missing stuff. Seriously doubt wiimote controls are gonna offset all of that. If you only have a Wii U it doesnt matter but on this site you would think it would.

Again I dispute that. Since this is not some objective measurement like graphical fidelity and performance. What if somebody values off-screen play without buying a tablet or PSV? Then they will find the Wii U version to be superior for their needs.

I'm not sure if I said AC4 is best on Wii U, if I did not then your argument is a strawman. If I did however, then that was a mistake on my part.

What do you mean by negated? This is an odd concept to me. Different people have different preferences. Maybe somebody isn't buying a multiplatform game day one and don't make their decision until the Wii U version is released? (this is very much likely.) Maybe somebody will wait if the features they like (such as off-screen play) are available? Maybe they didn't have consoles that can play the other versions of the game until recently, or they don't at all? Anyway, we can use the same arguments for PSO (GC) and Baluder's Gate (GC) - to name two games on the previous GC list. As for my shooter argument, the basic premise is that I wouldn't play the genre at all if it weren't for PC and Wii U controls. I can not stand dual analog for first or third person shooters. Having played shooters on PC first, I am spoiled by more precise controls. If I didn't have a PC, the only shooters I would play would be the ones released for the Wii U and which support wii motion controls (I don't have any current gen consoles by the way, except a 3DS.) A lot of other gamers feel this way. Controls for me at least, can make or break a game. I don't care if online is better if I don't like the way the game controls and how the companies have to accomodate for that (auto-targetting, for example.)

Stuck in the past as in stuck in the motion craze from 5 to 8 years ago.

Just because it's recent in history doesn't mean it's still new.  So you played a game which was good, that's great.  Where are all the other games coming out that use great motion controls?  There aren't, because current motion control options are yesterdays news.

If it was 2007 and I scoffed at your Wiimote without trying it I'd be stuck in the past, but no I've played those games, and now we're not having that same debate in 2014.

No, I just have higher standards as a PC gamer who has experienced First Person Shooters with mouse + keyboard. It has nothing to do with the past. Dual-analog is the archaic method here that needs innovation.

Wii U will sell 10,5 million by end of year, and will increase the sales next year.

"Octimist", no, you hope this number but even you know that will sell more. :3

10.5 million not 10,5 million. that is two numbers.

lol not a chance will it sell more. 10 million maximum.

Toast, in Europe they use comma (,) like the US/UK/Commonwealth countries use (.) , so 10.5 million is written as 10,5. Can be confusing because we use (,) to separate numbers into sequencies of 3 digits (ie, 10,500,000 is 10.5 million, not 10.500.000). I think drake_tolu is spanish, hence the use of comma.

OT, I can't see the Wii U outselling the Gamecube, its not outselling it now and the Wii U won't be able to get to as low a price as the Gamecube did due to the gamepad increasing the unit cost. I also think Nintendo will take it behind the shed and shoot it sometime in 2016-17 once its replacement is ready, and therefore denying it the chance to slowly creep past the Gamecube.

Yes, European, but Italian.

I thought we meant good third party games. In that case I could've added countless more for the Wii U. Look at the scores I added to your list, if we can list things that are under a score of 70, then I can add 15 more WIi U titles to the following list.

Rayman Legends

Skylanders Swap Force

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut

Shovel Knight

Need For Speed Most Wanted U PORT

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Mass Effect 3: Special Edition PORT (I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY EA LYING TO PEOPLE BY SAYING "SPECIAL EDITION")

Assassin's Creed III

NBA 2k13

Darksiders II PORT

Batman Arkham City

Trine 2: Director's Cut

Child of Light

Tekken Tag Tournament 2

LEGO Marvels Super Heroes

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Injustice: Gods Among Us PORT

Call of Duty Black Ops II

Skylanders Giants

Lego City Undercover

Resident Evil: Revelations PORT

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

ZombiiU

Ducktales: Remastered

Madden NFL 13

Tom Clancy's Splintercell Blacklist

Scribblenaughts Unlimited

Just Dance 2014

Disney Infinity

The Lego Movie Video Game

All of these games have a Metacritic more than 70. You can also include:

Watchdogs LATE PORT. HELL THE GAME HASNT EVEN COME OUT YET AND CONSIDERING WE STILL DONT HAVE A SOLID DATE, IT MIGHT NOT COME AT ALL. WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THESE GAMES WILL SCORE EITHER.

Skylanders Trap Team

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Just Dance 2015

Dragon Quest X (Crystal Chronicles was only released in Japan in 2003.)

Monster Hunter G (Crystal Chronicles was only released in Japan in 2003.)

if you're going to negate teh RE ports why not do the same for the WIi U games that are also late ports. I only highlighted games that were late and didnt bring anything really different to WIi U version and no a map on the screen isnt really different.

The gamecube version of resident evil 3 was released four years after the PSONE version, with no changes. The only game on my list with a comparable difference in release dates was Deus Ex (three years), and they added much more, making it better with new content.

Let's compare the "late ports" on Wii U:

Darksiders II

August 2012 (Windoes, PS3, XB360) - November 2012 (Wii U - with the console)

Mass Effect III

March 2012 (Windows, PS3, XB360) - November 2012 (Wii U - with the console)

Need For Speed Most Wanted

(November 2012 (...) - March 2013 (Wii U)

Injustice: Gods Among US

Released with other versions.

Resident Evil Revelations

Released January 2012 (3DS) May 2013 (Wii U among others)

Resident Evil 2

Released 1998 on PSOne, and GC Version (unmodified) was released in 2002 - full price.

Resident Evil 3

Released in 1999 on PSOne, and GC version (unmodified) was released in 2003 - full price.

See the difference here? If your issue is cross-generation games, then that applies to all consoles this generation and is a sign of a different market, not of the WIi U specifically.

Never.

The Wii U won't be selling in 2016. Zelda will be its swan song, not a system seller.

The only way I see myself eating those words if they somehow manage to tap into casual market in 2015 with a 199 price tag, Mario Kart and a ton of family orientated games which utilise the gamepad and wii mote.

End of 2015 it will sell 6m this year putting the lt sales at 11.5m then next year we'll see 12.5m sold putting the numbers at 24m by 2016.

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Whereas the audience for Mario has risen since the wii, I don't think smash bros has a much bigger audience then it did before.

Come on, how many of us do you think don't play FPS on PC with mouse + keyboard?

Motion controls & dual analog has it's pros & cons, that's why motion controls haven't become the defacto way for most people to play FPS, and dual-analog has endured.
