Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Safe To Say 3rd Party Support From Wii U Is Pretty Much Gone?

Shit, even Mini Games Collection games like Ubisoft Hasbro Game Channel is skipping the Wii U.........ouch...

If games like this are skipping the Wii U, then there must be some sort of internal problem.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

Mention a  3rd party game that I should be interested in that isn't an fps that will be released in the next 6 months and isn't on Wii U? No kidding, please do. Then, if it is really great I will get it on my PC. Because in all honesty, the PC has my Turn based strategy and real time strategy games that no console currently has anyway.

You only care about console exclusives then? Dragon Age, The Witcher 3, Project Cars, Forza Horizon 2, LBP3, Guilty Gear Xrd, Alien Isolation, Assassins Creed, The Crew and Driveclub  are all coming out within six months. Those are only the high profile games that I follow, Im sure others can add more to that list.

Most of those aren't console exclusives and/or are coming to WIi U as well. Others are only on one format and are not 3rd party.

Only one is coming to the wii U.

Three are first party.

The rest are on PC but if youre going to play "its also on PC" card so be it. All that means is gaming soley on a Wii U is not going to cut it, at least its bearable on the  other platforms if one has no interest in PCs

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Dragon Age = Would be cool and is on ps4 and xb1, not Wii U

The Witcher 3 = Would be cool and is on ps4 and xb1, not Wii U

Alien Isolation, = Would be cool and is on ps4 and xb1, not Wii U

The Crew = Would be cool and is on ps4 and xb1, not Wii U

Project Cars = on Wii U

Forza Horizon 2 = Xbox only

LBP3 = PS only

Guilty Gear Xrd = PS only

Assassins Creed = will probably appear on Wii U later

 Driveclub = ps only

4, possibly 5 games that are non exclusive, that the Wii U might not get. Then add in exclusives on other p;latforms (i.e would  need more than one console to play them all anyway) and you still have more games on the Wii U that are worth buying and will not be on any other format.

Bayo 2

X

Smash brother

Toad treasure trail

Hyrule warriors

Mario Maker

Splatoon

Yarn Yoshi

Zelda U

At Least 9 here. Would I give up these 9 games to to have the ones you wrote above? No. Neither would many people.

You have a fair point, but so do I. There is about the same ON JUST Wii U than there is on everything else except Wii U. I am being fair. To say the WII U is a lost cause because of lack of your list (3rd party) is unfair and nonsense.

I think literally there may be only 20 games or so released at retail for the Wii U next year.

Mario Maker, Kirby, Yoshi Wooly World, Splatoon, Star Fox U, Devil's Third, Xenoblade X, Fatal Frame V (c'mon), Zelda U, SMT x Fire Emblem (not even sure if this will make it), Mario Party 10 ... that's 11.

Just Dance 2016, Skylanders, Disney Infinity, LEGO Whatever (x2-3) that's 5-6 more ... now we're up to 16-17 releases.

Hahaha, this is really depressing. Is that Project: Cars still happening? I'm really thinking it will get cancelled quietly.

The lowest (full) year for the N64 (outside of 2001 when it was replaced by GCN) was 34 games for North America in 1997 I believe.

It's a bit ridiculous to think we know every game coming out for Wii U in 2015 by August 2014. Just think of all the games coming out this year that were revealed this year. On all consoles.

Very ridiculous actually.

Wi u reminds me of the n64, great first party games but missed out on way more classic 3rd party games on psx...

I won't be making the same mistake again, have fun..

third parties already abandoned nintendo after gamecube sales. the unexpected success of the wii forced them to make games for the big n cuz nobody wants to miss out on easy cash. then they used all the money to develop for the hardcore fans in the other systems which unfortunately forced a lot of them to go bankrupt due to high costs and not enuff sales. wii u is not replicating the wii's success so third parties are just going back to their original plans.

So Fifa 14 was released on the PSP and only sold 140k, yet they didn't release it on the Wii U. I'm not sure where anyone is coming from who says that EA are not out to get Nintendo.

With the assumed lower cost of developing for a handheld vs a new gen console and the sizeable audience, you'd think third parties would be flocking to the 3DS but they aren't. I don't think the Wii U 3rd party problem is system sales, but for some reason they are just avoiding Nintendo altogether.

it isnt system sales. Its software sales. And western 3rd parties have never really been big on handhelds anyway. Even in the heyday. What really big series were put on portables and how much of them did big numbers like there Japanese counterparts?
