Forums - Nintendo - Rumour: Infighting in Nintendo Management Leads to Scheming to Get Rid of Iwata

This article is pointless.

The board will sooner just kick-out and/or dismiss these managers, or just completely ignore them. The board re-elected Iwata, the board makes the majority of the decisions and have been backing Iwata on his stance against mobile. Nintendo is a Japanese company, anyway, so the president holds less than absolute power, the board is the one who makes the decisions against or for changes in the company.

No one on the board would let Hiroshi Yamauchi be president or even manage anything, he's not good at much of anything unlike his father.

I don't know who you're thinking about here but it's certainly not Hiroshi Yamauchi.

Haha, yes. My brain farted. I didn't mean the deadman but his son: Katsuhito Yamauchi.

can Mobile platforms just die already cause its just insane people keep suggesting Nintendo to make games for smart phones which would take away resources for making games on their own platforms

cause ports take alot of resources?

its  the same reason why i wish remaster's to not exist cause they cost money and need teams to make and i rather just have a new game even a small one instead of them porting or remaking an old one

a straight port of an old Nes game can be done by like 5 people. come on it costs next to nothing.

you do have a point there like i heard NES Remix was made by one person while he was working on 3D World

Well there is the other point that a lot of Nintendo's games simply wouldn't work that great on mobile.

The top grossing mobile games are not ports of old button based titles. I played Megaman 2 on iPhone ... it was a terrible experience.

I remember a review for MM2. 2/10

Since Iwata took the lead of Nintendo, the company entered in a state of rehashing his franchises. Look at New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart, for example. Since the DS versions, both games have the same gameplay, the same game modes and nothing new (except for new levels/race tracks). It's understandable to rehash an annual game, especially based on reality, like Fifa, but a game that is released with a 2~4 years gap (and its a fantasy game), is inexcusable.

He clearly helped Nintendo in improving the sales, but the quality decreased. F-Zero is dead, Advance Wars is almost dead, like some others Nintendo franchises. The thirdies left and the prices are high ($4.99 for a NES game. The same price since 2006, c'mon!); Lack of a good membership program, like Sony and Microsoft are doing; Nintendo Club is available only in a few countries and the rewards are laughable.

No wonder Wii U is underperforming. Nintendo stopped in time. Iwata is too stubborn to listen the fans. Only the diehard Nintendo fans are liking how the things are now.

I have a 3ds, but if the things continue, this will be my last Nintendo hardware.

some of you really need to get over yourselves. You are not the sacred holders of anything Nintendo, please. Them having stuff on mobile wouldnt take away from anything they do regularly. The money they could make would be worth it and you could have your "pure" Nintendo. everyone wins. And no it being on mobile isnt going to take away sales from the "real" games since people buying the mobile and vice versa understand the difference.

The problem with that is opening the door. If nintendo were to release games on smartphones, they will make some big profits at first, but it is well documented mobile sucess does not equal continued growth.

What I see Nintendo doing down the road is to create a Nintendo app, where you can buy games and play them within the same app. Release VC games on it, but always keeping control of it. Put adds for wiiU and 3ds games there and keep it small.

but they are not growing now and it doesnt look like they will anytime soon. they have to do something. Cause new Smash and Zelda arent going to cut it.

See i like your idea. That makes sense. have it on mobile and have alot of control. Thats pretty good. Its better than people here just blindly saying "No mobile" like some hick conservative

The problem with mobile and Nintendo is if you ever open the door to $1-$5 Mario/Mario Kart/Pokemon on mobile, no one other than core fans are ever going to pay even $30 for those franchises ever again IMO and certainly never going to buy a seperate piece of Nintendo hardware to play them.

They'd be better off in that case just accepting a giant gaurunteed moneyhat contract from Microsoft for like X amount of dollars per year to make games for the XBox and in turn allow some Windows 9 compatibility with a future handheld.

The problem I see is somewhat related. Nintendo is not going to release big games on mobile anytime soon, but say Nintendo put some of their old games on mobile, if they see some profits, investors will mostlikely pressure Nintendo to go full blown support on Mobile.

That´s the problem IMO, mobile can represent an alternative way of easy profits, but that will only happens as long as Nintendo has the capability of keeping their big games out of Mobile.

If I were in Iwata's shoes, instead of mobile, I would expand the NNiD to a full blown PS+/Live. Charge the same $50 yearly, and offer some good SNES/N64/GC/wii/GBA/DS/Eshop free rentals everymonth. Make games available for both 3ds and wiiU, (Nes, SNES, N64, DS, eshop for 3ds; all for wiiU). Even if only a 10% of the wiiU/3ds owners sign in (Multiple wiiu/3ds owners) that would be $250 millions per year...

They already took the vote, and Iwata's approval went up. The scheming anti-Iwata imbeciles failed and will continue failing.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Lol, sure.

This reads like a bad fanfic, I'm not believing this for a second. No one in their right mind would want Yama Jr. as the CEO, he has very limited business experience compared to Iwata. As a matter of fact, Iwata had more business experience when he was picked to be the successor 11 years ago than Yama Jr. does now.
