RE4 is still the best third party game on the Wii

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!1

The best selling third party game on Wii is Mario & Sonic at the olympic games.

The quote is best game not best selling.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

That's actually kind of sad when so far to date, the best third party effort on the Wii is a 2-year old port. Fuck it, I'm not buying any third party game.

So, what games on the PS3 are better than RE4? Oh that's right. None.

I would say no game on the PS3 is as good as Chrono Trigger for the SNES but that doesn't mean a port of it to the Wii represents Square Enix's commitment to make PS3 level efforts for the Wii, now would I? If you like third parties to port their best efforts last gen to the Wii instead of developing high quality projects this gen, well so be it.

Here you can find the games that come to Wii this year. That is without a few BIG announcements I expect to happen for the 2nd half of the year.

If you can say that 3rd party developers still don't make a serious effort on Wii, you just don't want to see it, which is pretty sad. (BTW I'm NOT making any comparissons with the other consoles).

The succes of Wii was unexpected by 3rd parties, that's why good games took so long to be made. And btw, you can call RE4 a port, but the Wii version is by far the best version of one of the best games ever and I take that over 99% of the new games for the HD consoles. Bioshock, Orange Box, Mass Effect and Uncharted are the only games I think can compete with this "port" and then only because it had 3 earlier releases. Had RE4Wii been an original game for Wii it would have by far been the best game of this generation.

No hype for Wii? I blame Wii Fit of course!

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Personally, I think a large portion of the hype for PS3/XBox 360 games is caused by fanboys need to argue the eventual "come back" for their system of choice. If you don't need a system seller to sell your system why would you hype a third party game of questionable value as a system seller?

Plus, all of thse "comeback" stories are based upon mostly first- or second-party games. Halo Wars, Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Alan Wake? All published by Microsoft. Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Afrika, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles? All published by Sony.

Fact is, there are very few notable third-party exclusives on either of the HD systems in 2008, which makes the list I posted several posts up (most of which are third-party games) extremely good in Nintendo's favor. That's a LOT of potentially good third-party games, and a lot of new, promising IP to boot.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I just checked a few websites, and none have it listed for the PS2, so I doubt it.

"Aside from Nintendo's own project's third parties seem to shoot themself in the foot by refusing to hype any of their game's on wii."

There are games for the Wii 2008 besides Nintendo games? Sorry but it is hard to build up Hype without something to back it up.

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Oboro Muramasa Yotuden (Odin Sphere pseudo-sequel)

Mushroom Men

Super Mario Stadium Baseball

Okami Wii

We Love Golf

Star Wars: Force Unleashed (Not exclusive, but has exclusive controls + content)

Monster Lab

FFCC: Crystal Bearers

Fatal Frame IV

(maybe) Blast Works

(maybe) Opoona

(maybe) Spore Wii

(maybe, if Hell freezes over) Sadness

All that, plus the promising upcoming WiiWare games: FFCC My Life as a King, Bruiser and Scratch (by ex-Naughty Dog developers Steel Penny Games), Eternity's Child, Star Soldier R, World of Goo, Bomberman Wii, Butterfly Garden, Dr. Mario Wii, LostWinds, and likely more to be announced soon.

Oh, and the Big Two: SSBB and Mario Kart Wii. But those are pretty hyped as is. :)

Believe me, there's more to be hyped about for the Wii than for any other system this year. We're just not hearing much of anything about it...

Why do so many people talk smack about wii's third party line up and then ignore a lot of this gold? Nice list Garcian, just shows there's a lot of grade A stuff out there. And the best part is all the Wii Ware which as you mentioned, even comes in it's own list of great stuff.

And all the people saying there's no third party games but RE4 are the reason Z&W and NMH aren't selling as good. Damn you guys!

But for real, don't hate... there's a ton of great stuff out there, but they just don't promote it like they should.
