If you don't need a system seller to sell your system why would you hype a third party game of questionable value as a system seller? |
Plus, all of thse "comeback" stories are based upon mostly first- or second-party games. Halo Wars, Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Alan Wake? All published by Microsoft. Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Afrika, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles? All published by Sony.
Fact is, there are very few notable third-party exclusives on either of the HD systems in 2008, which makes the list I posted several posts up (most of which are third-party games) extremely good in Nintendo's favor. That's a LOT of potentially good third-party games, and a lot of new, promising IP to boot.
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
