Wii U - 3rd parties are taking notice in the big shift that Mario Kart 8 brought with it. With Smash Bros and the newly announced Zelda game, Wii U will continue picking up the pace, which is what 3rd parties are waiting for.

It doesn't make sense that people don't think the WIi U will recover.

PS3 had a worse start, and ended up with a nice recovery.

3DS had an awful start and ended up dominating.

But it's impossible for the Wii U to do the same? Seems like radical fanboyism to me.

The main argument against the XB1 doing well is that it's too much alike the PS4. If everyone's getting a PS4, why get an XB1? Getting a Wii U as a 2nd system makes more sense, for the 1st party games. The XB1 will do well, but the Wii U's recovery will lock in 2nd place.

What big shift? MK8 did not bring a shift yet, as of now it moved some systems in its first weeks, which is completely normal for a game of its size, nothing else. Sales have already dropped below 100k and will drop even more in the next weeks.

And the PS3 started not nearly as bad as the Wii U, nor did the 3DS.

OT: the X1

Wii U certainly has an outside shot at second place. Problem there though is that the release windows for the quality titles are too few and far between. Also, I don't see the Wii U having the same lifespan as the current MS and Sony offerings. XBO will wind up in second place, just might take it a little longer than some were expecting for it to get there.

Ok, I rescind the 3DS, but the PS3 holds true.

I think XBOX One will secure 2nd spot after Halo 5 release.

The Xbox One will easily get the 2nd place.  Can someone please explain to me why are still debating over this?

It's interesting to see both sides of the argument!

Well, the XBO will end up in 2nd place at the end of the day so it doesn't really matter!

The only issue I have with this post is that the PS3 also costs like $250 dollars more and was not first to hit the market with a 1yr head start like the Wii U was. So the comparisions are VERY different. The Wii U was ALONE as the newest console on the market when it released the PS3 was already millions behind when it came out and did not have a game library to back it up. The Wii U has/had NONE of those disadvatages, it has been on the market the longest, has the most and highest rated exclusive games AND is the cheapest. So I honestly do not see how the Wii U could possibly turn things around without almost giving the console away for free or dropping the price $100 more dollars.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Mario Kart and Smash will buy it some time. But with the kinect an option and the console $100 cheaper, X1 really has nothing to stop it from taking 2nd. Plus it gets all those 3rd party games WiiU doesn't.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I believe the Xbox One will get second place. It will get more support and the user base will increase as soon as games like Halo and gears hit the market.

I think the Wii U for the RELEVANT TIMEFRAME. Meaning the time until the next Nintendo system releases. XBO passsing WiiU after that doesnt really matter anymore.
