I'd like to say XboxOne, but I just don't think it can do it. So PS4 it is.

Like it was said before this is a battle to be the secondary system now because ps4 has already won. Nobody is going to have a xbox one with the ps4 because they are to similar. The secondary console is going to be the one with the most exclusives and games that can be a diferent experience to the main ps4, witch it will be the wiiu.

Wild cards that can affect the leaderboard.

1) The wiiu can only loose in third if the life span is to short and the other two keep selling a few more years.

2) The wiiu can get a big boost when the x1 flops and fans hating the ps4 for cremating it get a wiiu out of spite. even if it dosent flop it will be a secondary system to both ps4 and x1 so it will increase even more.

3) The wiiu is the soonest to get a pricecut oviously, and when the x1 flops and install base grows more third party suport will maybe return.

4) Nintendo said they are looking to acquire new companies so they might get some good exclusives outside of the nintendo family and will boost sales and varie the fanbase.

5) MS can spend a shitload of cash to buy many many exclusives(witch is unlikely with how unprofitable the xbox division has been) and drop the price enough to make it to second place(never win).

6) Nintendo fans never left and are just waiting for their favorite franchise(zelda,metroid,maybe sega) to come out and maybe a pricecut(witch it will happen this year for sure, game bundles count as pricecuts).

7) Sony can go bankrupt and it might affect the playstation brand.

8) Its to early in the generation for the majority to start having secondary consoles. Sales for all of them will increase in a year from now, although it dosent look promising for x1 since its to alike the ps4 but inferior HD and less exclusives.

There are many more wilds cards but these come to mind. But to me it only looks good for Nintendo and not MS. There is a small chance that they can still come out on top again.

Since the competition is not going to bring any games or promotions or sell a single console until halo comes out in 16-18 months then it will take first place.

Really? Did you see the Wii U launch lineup? Abysmal.

But that's what I said, I said the PS3 had a worse start.

It's up to Nintendo, in my opinion. If they can continue to release 1st party game after 1st party game, both old franchises and new IPs, the Wii U has a chance to get 2nd place. Hyrule Warriors, Zelda U, Smash, Xenoblade X, and Bayonetta 2 look very enticing, but Nintendo needs to do a lot more than that if they want their console to maintain good sales. The problem with the X1 is that it is similar to the PS4. A lot of games that are released for the X1 can also be played on the PS4 and consumers have shown that they prefer the better version of multiplats. The Wii U, on the other hand, has a lot of games unique to that platform.

Then you might as well say that the 360 had a worse start. When people talk about how bad of a start the Wii U had, they mean 2013, not the launch time
