Forums - Sales - X1 will never catch or match PS4 sales, it is a misfired product.

Anyway if it manages 50 million then I would call that pretty good.

The point was, there's virtually no chance of this happening, and any increased likelihood is incredibly marginal.

You're pulling numbers out of thin air again, something that you initially accussed me of that I didn't even do. And you did not even elaborate as to why you think so. I'm not saying that the X1 will definitely not do well, but the probably of that happening is non-negligable. Especially when about a third of PS4 owners were non-PS3 oweners from last-gen and Sony has a lot more 1st party studios than MS, you cannot rule out the possibility.

I don't know, I think microsoft can still pull it out (no pun here folks!). It's still pretty early, perceptions can shift. Especially if they are still shooting for a 10 year life cycle.

Biggest problem the xbox one had/has was their leadership team. Mattrick was a joke, he deserves to be at zynga, not head of xbox. He was nothing but a train wreck as the head of xbox and his leadership during a console transition can be considered nothing less than a nightmare.

However, Microsoft has done a lot to rectify the issues Mattrick left them. In time, with some big hitters like Halo, they can at least pull even in NA and UK. Europe may be a lost cause. However, they could still make some gains in emerging markets like China, South America, etc. It's not a completely lost cause for Microsoft, I still think they can get close to what the 360 sold, 70 million or so...

How though ?  Mattrick may be gone but X1 is still a much a cluster fuck of failure he was a part of.  Counting on heavy hitter to turn it around is unrelaistic, PS4 will have its own heavy hitters that will nullyfy any bump X1 gets.  Given how badly PS4 is out sellng the X1 now, for it to hit 70m there would have to be massise market growth where PS4 passes 200m in sales.

Something that annoys me is people keep saying "I don't know, I wouldn't count MS out yet!" and then they give no reason for why we shouldn't.  I am not singling you out, and I am not necessarily saying we should 100% forget Xbox already, but seriously why shouldn't we.

Let's have this discussion people!  Forget marking BS from both sides!  The Xbox One is a little more than half as strong as the PS4, MS has way fewer first party studios and IP's than Sony, and the Playstation brand has more staying power.  How in the hell could MS dig themeselves out of this hole?

THe 3ds Is what half as strong as the Vita? Who cares. Quantity> Quality. Most Vgchartz members believe that MS exclusives will outsell Sonys exclusives this holidays and thats what matters. Having good games will turn it around which they have shown in MCC, FH2, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break , Gears and Halo

Also, PS4 has guaranteed longevity thanks to Sony's 1st party studios and better support from 3rd parties. The same cannot be said for the X1 and we saw what happened when the 360 only rotated between Halo, Gears, Forza, and Fable. Whatever flagship titles the X1 will have, Sony can easily counter them with their own and at greater quantities, too.

Yes, because Sony has no good games coming out...

You can say you hope they will out sale, but last i checked Killzone and Infamous did no worse then any of the X1 exclusves.  KillzoneSf did +2.1million by feb1.

Yes the hilarious MS will turn it around with games, As if PS4 will have none lol.  Halo Gears to the recuse beacuse there will be no Uncharted Gran Turismo GodofWar TLOS.

I agree, I'm thinking xbox one will have a strong hold for 2nd place
