Graphically, the game looks pretty stupid, but the idea behind the games gameplay is extremely well done. The gameplay looks as if it will be amazing on a competitive level while also being really fun at the same time for the not so competitive. It's unfortunate the game is on eshop because I won't buy it, and the game more than likely won't sell to most people thinking it's just a kiddy shooter.

Its free to play.

Its basically the Wii U's version of TitanFall.

It is more comparable to an indie game than anything.

It looks like fun. But face it, if MS showed the exact same thing then people would give it a lot of shit. It looks ok. Hardly a game-changer.

I don't think so.  It really doesn't make sense to use the term "indie game" to try and define how something looks, because indie games can look like they are from the NES era up to rivaling AAA titles looks.

I didn't mean graphics.

I mean in terms of its scope.

If that's the case, then what about CoD games?

You're saying the scope of cod is comparable to this? lol

CoD has a very barebones single player campaign, a very simple "leveling" system, a limited selection of maps, several modes, probably a few dozen "weapon" selections, and basically you either shoot, throw a grenade, or knife someone.  The game may be more complex on the outside, but when it comes down to actually playing the game it's rather simplistic.  Splatoon is of a different genre, where getting "kills" isn't the focus.  We already know there are different weapons (how many is unknown), the number of maps is also unknown but we know there will be more, there is likely to be other modes, and there are quite a few other elements to the game if you watched the game being played.  The scope of what we know may be less than CoD, but it is comparable.

How many online multiplayer shooters does the Wii U have. Now how many are of them are exclusive? Now how many are those are exclusive and free to play?

Nintendo actually embracing online multiplayer shooters? That should be a megaton in itself. Especially coming off of the back of the 3DWorld multiplayer fiasco.

I feel like i'm the only one that thinks Splatoon doesn't look like a full game. It looks almost like an eshop game. Do you like it or dislike it.

To be perfectly frank, you're basing this off of one demo level you saw. That was not the entire game. And regardless, it's a multiplayer battle game. How much more to it, aside from many other stages, do you expect there to be?

"online multiplayer free to play exclusive Wii U shooter"

literally destroys any opposing argument.

I feel like the people claiming "limited gameplay" wouldn't be if it was graphically represent by shambling semi-liquidated corpses who were spewing out red, brown, black, and grey ooze that they dissolved into.

I can't wait to buy this at retail! This and Sunset Overdrive are shooters that actually look noteworthy to me - but this has the advantage of me already having the console.

Also if they set this game with Mii-Verse based age restricted voice chat and online as buttery as Mario Kart it will be such a win for Nintendo's free online.

Looked awesome to me. I've always wanted to see Nintendo's take on a multiplayer shooter, and I wasn't disappointed.

I have never seen you say anything nice about Nintendo before.
